I'm talking about "Illegal Immigrants" specifically from Mexico. Sure you have cental America too, but the main problem is Mexican nationals who run across the border illegally. These people are barbaric, desperate and have no intention on integrating into the American mainstream (obeying the Constitution, paying taxes, obeying our laws). Yes, they live here and many have lived here for a long time, but they burn the American flag, drink heavily (nothing wrong with drinking, but most DUIs are illegal immigrants, and most vehicular homicides are illegal immigrants, not to mention drug-related crimes), are violent (Southern border violence), and associate primarily in gangs. Drive through south Phoenix or El Centro, CA and this will give you an idea of what our country's headed for. Sure, in the midst of all this you have good 'ol Jose and his family that are just trying to work and make a living. But what happens to Jose if he gets arrested with has no driver's license or ID. Even though he is a good guy, is he really contributing to society and helping the economy? How many Jose's are out there? What's the impact on a national scale of this person who works but doesn't pay any taxes, social security, or health insurance. What happens if he goes to the hospital? A lot of people want to get all luvy duvy about this, but talk to the families of one of the police chiefs in Pheonix who was killed by an illegal alien driving a dump trunk. The police chief was stopped at a stop light on his motorcycle with about six other riders who were run over.

Yes, illegal immigrants have burned the American flag, and they have flown the Mexican flag at schools and in classrooms. I have lived and worked in Del Rio, El Paso,Texas and Nogales, Phoenix, and Tucson, AZ. I haven't listed everything I've seen that supports these claims.

Actually, flying the flag upside down is to be done only to signal distress/emergency.

When protesters do it, I agree that they are doing it to engender and display disrespect towards the country for which it stands.

I went to mexico for the 2007 baja1000. Barely made it out of there alive! Actually have my life thanks to the locals!
I havnt read the whole thread, but once you get past the sketchy border towns and in a little deeper, Mexico can be great time.

I have as much daily exposure to the illegal (and legal) immigration issues as most, both from a business and a geographic perspective. Character does not care where you were born, or how you got to where you are now. It is who you are, regardless of where you came from and we all have different character. Some good, some not so much. So I guess we agree after all.
