That would be awesome! Way to go O'Show! Talking some sense into Stewart-now that is good mentoring assuming it is true. I'll have to listen to the show asap.

Will he be able to win SX in 2012? Or will the field inch ahead by virtue of their full time commitment to racing, training, and trying to find more speed? I can't see Canard, Dungey, Pourcel, Villy, or Reed getting any slower by next year.
Isn't Reed footing his own bill? I can't see him paying for an entire outdoor National series unless he get's a major sponsor to pick up the tab. I'm sure James schedule will be the same as 2010, selected events, once sx ends, wasn't that what was expected of him last year but he was injured?

Yeah, Nard, we get it. You don't like James Stewart and would rather not see him out there.

MC didnt stick around long when he was soundly beat. RC didnt stick around because he saw what was coming his way from James if he did. I dont see James staying around as a top 3-5 guy after all the years of winning. If you can, more power to ya.
You live in a bubble, get out!

More or less the same tracks, and they've always been rough. Much deeper talent pool to contend with is the real difference.

I don't agree. Nationals are harder, if you look at a lot of the racers, yeah there's more of them, 40, but the 20th place on back is pretty much the same guys week in week out and you will find guys who do descent in SX in the 20th on back in the Nationals. The leaders of SX are still the leaders of the Nationals. But you can factor in the Local Hotshot in, like Dowdy, he won't race the series but will show up at Southwick and kick some ass, a lot of the tracks have "that guy" but really no deep talent pool, everyone is still in the prospective places.

That is awesome!

Anyone that thinks Stewart is done winning races and championships will soon get a huge wake-up call. There are no comparisons between JS now and RC/MC during their last years.

Stewart has had a tough season, that is certain. He has crashed so many times this season we have lost count, made some very big mistakes(but who this year hasn't?), and had a bit of bad luck. Winning a SX championship over 17 races obviously requires avoiding all of those things. The positive if you are James Stewart is that he hasn't sustained a serious injury, and he has been able to keep riding fast.

It is really hard to speculate as to why Stewart hasn't been performing quite up to our standards or his own this year. We know he has a lot going on now off the track, and a lot of uncertainty as far as his teams leadership and goals. It is hard to say if these things are hurting his focus on the track. At times his riding has been fantastic, a notch above the rest of the field, but at other times he looks uncomfortable and relatively hesitant(for him anyway!).

A lot of people on here seem to only point at the good competition as the reason James isn't leading this title chase. I think the top 5 riders are all amazing this year, but they aren't the reason James hasn't been winning. Everyone that is paying attention, knows motocross, and is being honest can see that James has been beating himself this year. The raw talent James possesses to ride a dirt bike is still not surpassed by another rider out there, but they are up to this point putting in better results.

I think James will get some more wins this season, he may even win the rest of them, although he now looks like a long shot for the championship. If he can win some races to end the supercross season and put in some more rides like we saw at A2 and Daytona(before the crash), his confidence will be very high going into outdoors and I would pick him as the favorite. Crashing away another AMA SX title should certainly get him to settle down and get his life 100% focused on racing.
