I stand behind James Stewart

Squeaky clean kid. Big smile, biggest balls in the sport and in my opinion still the fastest. Dedicated, hard working and it's about time he made a juvenile mistake. I'm surpirsed he hasn't screwed something up sooner?

I watched 2 moto's with his Mom 4 year's ago and the lady is nothing but class and that's why her son's mistake's are just silly ones that sound bad and not malicious ones that are bad.

I predict Bubba smokes 'em all in Dallas.

Go Bubba!

He's done way more in the felony department than most of the people I know. In spite of that fact, in your little one-sided bromance, you can still call him squeaky clean.

Didnt you know? Everyone on Vital has at least stabbed a couple people while on meth. Didnt you do that or worse when you were young? I thought we all had a couple deep holes dug in the woods. You know, just incase we felt like being kids. If you havent spent your younger years breaking law after law, you arent old school "core" like the rest of these guys.

I agree, it is sad that Bubba is a high profile figure who had his mug shot plastered all over the news for committing a felony. You can describe him how you like but to say "squeaky clean" is laughable this week.

It's only a juvenile mistake if you are under the age of 18.
And a felony charge doesn't just sound bad.....it is bad....no matter how nice his mom is.

Those are some very supportive comments and really set the record straight as to how big James' smile is.

Why do you expect him to screw something up? Are we sitting around waiting for Villopoto and Dungey and Canard's big screw-ups too? I don't like James much but certainly wasn't waiting around for him to do something stupid like this off the track.

Never mind standing behind him, just proclaim that you've got his nuts gently in hand.

How many of you have ever driven a vehicle while under the influence? Which "action" do you think is "worse"? Thought so.

He's not looking out for the well being of the sport. He will soon be gone and we will be talking about king jeremy again. I wonder how many times this year Ralph has said, (Stewarts down again). I think that will be the quote of 2011. Truth hurts huh.

It depends on how many pedestrians you run over or how many head on collisions you get in. Even if you are lucky enough to not run over anyone DUI is a felony in some states. Also, it's way worse to be convicted of a felony than it is to be charged with one. Which category does James fall into?

To be clear, no state makes a simple DUI, such as might be given for blowing .085 on a routine roadblock DUI check, with nothing else going on and no prior DUIs, a felony. Felony DUI is for additional things like manslaughter, or for multiple offenses such as "three strikes your out" laws.

Whatever, his hardcore fans will always stand by him no matter what. So unless he does something to their immediate family, then he is forgiven.

I don’t hate the guy, but I just wish he would have manned up when it first happened. I mean come on. You are a high profile figure. Not only a SX/MX champion, but also someone that been profiled a few times on ESPN as well as having your own TV show, not to mention all the little kids that look up to you like a god. When you are in that position you better make sure you don’t do dumb shit or you are gonna get blasted. Think about it, would this be a big deal if the same thing happened to Kyle Regal? I seriously doubt it.

He impersonated a cop, ran, hid evidence, and then lied. For me, that has affected the way I feel about him as a person. If he had immediately made his apology to the new reporter leaving the police station, or done a phone interview that next day that would have been way better, but just putting out a PR days later that obviously is just to help save face with your sponsors is lame Dizzy

James Stewart is Sorry for Incident, Will Continue Racing
Orlando, FL (March 30, 2011) - On Monday, March 27, at 4:50 p.m., James Stewart was arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer. The incident occurred on Florida’s Highway 417 in Orlando, as Stewart was taking a friend to the airport to catch his flight. According to police reports, Stewart allegedly used his vehicle lights and red and blue lights to slow down a vehicle containing off duty police officers that had passed his vehicle. Stewart was in street clothes and never exited his vehicle during the incident. No confrontation or exchange of words between the officers and Stewart occurred. Stewart was not charged with any dangerous driving or any other negative action. The police report is clear that once Stewart slowed the police officers’ vehicle that he then drove towards the airport; several miles later, Stewart and his friend were pulled over at the airport where they fully cooperated with police.
Stewart is extremely sorry that the incident occurred and that any negative inferences may arise that reflect poorly on his fans, his team, or his sponsors. Stewart will continue working with authorities to resolve the incident quickly.

In James’ words: “Thanks to all that are standing by me. I hope to resolve this incident quickly and show people that I am someone that upholds the law and someone they can respect as a competitor and as a person.”
Stewart is free to race and is preparing for this weekend’s Supercross race in Arlington, Texas. He and his team will continue competing in the remainder of the Supercross series.

So, WTF are you talking about??

Ok, I take that back. Maybe he does frequent Flea Markets in Florida. It could be true though, but when I first heard that I was like "yeah riiiiight" Smile More like you are either protecting your buddy in the car or you dont wanna say who you bought it from. Flea Market is no receipts and no way of tracking who you bought it from.

The reality of this is, that James has put all of the good people that support this sport in a negative light. I am not so sure the sport will ever recover.

I watched 2 moto's with his Mom 4 year's ago and the lady is nothing but class and that's why her son's mistake's are just silly ones that sound bad and not malicious ones that are bad.

I predict Bubba smokes 'em all in Dallas.

What's worse talking about some hypothetical "how many of you have driven a vehicle while under the influence" or the reality of committing and being charged with a felony.

And the part about lying. Did he fully cooperate before or after they found the lights in his friends luggage?
