I personally was always an Emig fan. MC won alot of races. I just don't think he had any real competition when he won. Does anyone else feel that the talent level was low at that point? If Ricky would have came sooner he would of stopped him a couple titles early. Obviously if my aunt had a #^{£ she would be uncle.

I didn't like the comments MC made about Pourcel and Reed. I personally think Reed is just as good if not better than MC. Reed has always had stacked competition and rose to the occasion. When it comes to pourcel I think he is more talented as well.. I'm going to get some $#^+ for this. Reed the best rider-owner ever?
72 wins. You dont luck into that. Title, after title, after title. He is the King of Supercross. Period.

I honestly think that in 93, MC did get lucky but in a different way than alot think.

In 1993, MC was destined to be a factor, not the next champion. Bradshaw, Bayle, Stanton, Larocco, MXKeid, Cooper, Ward.... I could keep going... he was going to be up with those guys. Then, something happened, and imo, it is what sparked earlier, the domination we saw for almost a decade. imo he would have still dominated, just this accelerated it.

1993 hits. First race, everyone is buzzing about another Stanton/Bayle/Bradshaw war. That was the story. At no time was MC mentioned other than an up and coming rookie that could possibly be a factor. What happened? First 3 or 4 races, MC was up front, but not winning. Bayle was over it, he had road racing on his mind and was phoning it in. Stanton had went vegitarian and was not fit at all plus SX wasnt exactly his forte in terms of smooth. Bradshaw was literally in a very bad place mentally, almost to the point of suicidal.

MC was following Stanton, and in MC's own words, during the race he asked himself this question... "why am I following this guy?" He dives inside, nails a triple, passes Stanton. Then goes on to win that race, and the rest that season.

How is that lucky? Had he moved up in 92, when all 3 of them were at their peak, you would not have seen an MC domination that quickly. Would he have eventually gotten there, imo, yes. But catching things like that in 93 gave him a huge boost in confidence, as in confidence on steriods vs building it gradually. He caught the field when they were at their softest, got a much larger confidence boost faster, and imo it led to what we saw in the years that followed.
I think Bayle was phoning it in long distance...... from France.
