Hey,

Had Dungey not had his DNF he would be well ahead of Reed and within a few points of the lead.

Bash Dungey all you like, talk about how he has not won, etc. He has ridden consistent and if last year he had some gifts handed to him, then I guess we can say the same thing about RV in 2011.

You don't see any consistency with RD1? What planet are you living on? He's Mr. Consistent and that's why he is third in points and would be close to first if he did not DNF a race.

Dungey is overrated. Yeah, he works his ass off and trains like no other and has incredible speed. But in all reality He's lucky he's got one or two titles now.
Barely beat Weimer for his Lites Supercross title.
Should've lost his outdoor title to Pourcel not for a DNF at Southwhick
Reed, Stewart, and Villopoto out of Supercross title
And the Outdoors, he did kill it out there and I think he still would of beat Reed heathly but the other big 2 were out.

Now with everyone in it. In the last what 5 or more races still has not legitimately passed the BIG 4.

I don't hate the Dunge, but he has to ride with some more hair on his balls !!! He should have beat Reed last week, he should have beaten Trey when he won.....he just doesn't have that "kill or be killed" mentality like the guys handing him his ass do. He has the skill, he has the fitness, he just needs the aggression, then he will be a pissed off wide awake giant !!!

That's a big IF.

What IF RV2 had qualified tonight.

What IF JS7 hadn't crashed as many times as he has this year.

What IF Dungey hadn't been gifted as many podiums as he has gotten this year.

What IF Reed still had a factory ride and months of testing before A1.

What IF Andrew Short was on a 450.

There's a lot of IFs. That's why your argument lacks credibility.

Dungey has been consistent I'll give him that. He's consistently been the 5th fastest rider this year...

5th fastest rider this year? What planet are you living on? Oh yeah, you're living on planet, "some dude's asshole". Look at the stats again and take away all the "if's" and Dungey is top three.

Hey pork chop. You're the one saying that Dungey would be in the championship lead IF he didn't have a DNF. Well what if all that other shit hadn't happened? Dungey still wouldn't be in the championship lead. DNFs happen in this sport along with all the other shit I mentioned. You can't keep arguing that someones results would be better IF something didn't happen to them.

That's my argument. All the other riders I listed would have more points too IF shit hadn't happened and Dungey wouldn't be top 3 like you said. He would be 4th at best, just ahead of Trey.

You can go back to smokin Dungeys pole now...

I knew it was a mistake to engage in a discussion with a guy who has some angry kool-aid avatar. But I digress. Take away Dungey's DNF and give Reed one more podium than he has now, take away James' crashes and RV's DNF and Dungey would be third in points behind Stewart and RV.

I'm not talking about "bad" rides. If Dungey rode bad and finished 7th it would be what it is. I am talking about things that are completely out a rider's control like a DNF. Big difference between a rider crashing and/or getting bad starts and a DNF.

But I guess the faster guys all have to lose it - there were only five men left on the same lap as the winner last night so they have to screw up bad to lose a load of points.

all your points are valid except one...

say what you want about him not passing the "fantastic 4" this season but he hasnt exactly tried to either. thats rubbed some fans the wrong way but its proven to be a very succesful strategy. and with a field this deep, i wont hold it against him at all. smart racing will win the title, it always does, whether against a "fab 5" or a "big 2".

you cannot ignore that this season is the deepest sx has ever seen. and dungey made a solid plan for combating that, and has diligently stuck to it. it may work or it may not, but he's sticking to his plan. if it doesnt work, then give him all the shit you want. but if it does work, then eat crow like a man and dont pile on him for "not legitimately passing anyone".

Dungey was a good, solid 5th place guy tonight before the help from JS and RV.

his patience has been something to admire. while all of us were clamoring to have him step it up, he stuck to the plan. even in this thread some still think he isnt doing enough. in the end, he might prove he was doing everything perfectly from the start.

with a field this deep, we all should have known better and put our money on the guy who would employ this strategy. above anything, racing (or any sport for that matter) is about DISCIPLINE. dungey has showed that better than anyone with exception to reedy.

what a year. i hope stewie and rv dont miss any races. they are warriors and should be applauded for the heart theyve displayed.
Ask him what he plans to do about CR22? Oh, and tell him I said hi.

Last summer I was reading on here about how Dungey was the next GOAT.

I like the kid and it would be real cool to see him win the title again. But I really want to see him take the fight to these guys instead of getting 2nd and 3rd every week. Getting late in the season. If he wants it then at some point he's going to have to hang it out.
