Reedy finished a race back in Aus when he was 16 or 17 with a broken femur. it was outdoors and i think he got a spectator to start the bike for him.
Then his dad drove 10 hours home to take him to his local hospital with Chad trying to manage the pain in the back of the van all because his dad needed to go to work the next day.

I think James could have crawled off the track.

That said, i hope James is ok.

hehe not quite Geneffy. I was there that day. He hit a false neutral on the sand whoops heading to the finish and swapped out. Broke his tib/fib. He got up and tried to get a spectator to start the bike for him but then the pain set in so it was over.
Well, his old man told me that story around a campfire one night.

Yes there was beer involved.

The memory may be a little blurry but I'm pretty sure he said he finished.

I know he drove home before taking him to the hospital.

i just broke my femur 4 weeks ago and it broke at the neck of the femur, where it joins into the hip socket. if he has done his femur and hip he WOULD NOT have riggled off the track like they said he would have laid in the one spot, the pain involved is horrendous
agreed, you barely are coherent the pain is so great.

I've had a compound fracture of my femur and dislocated my hip. You're not going too far, because I know I didn't... But then again with adrenalin I suppose.

I've seen people with compound femur fractures crawl off the track. With that much adrenaline, anything is possible. But I'll believe it when I see the JS7 press release.

Here's some possible good news. While boarding my flight in Jacksonville, I talked to someone who said he saw James walk back into his hotel under his own power this morning.

Is there anything else that could go wrong for Stewart? This must be his craziest championship hunt ever. I`m almost convinced that this is just not his year.

i broke a rib bone a 3 weeks ago at a track. picked up my bike, kept riding for the day. came back two days later and rode. kept training at home in the gym.

pain was frustrating, but didnt know the extent of the injury until i went to the doctor last week. and to my suprise what felt like a annoying bruise turned out to be a fracture. i never would have thought it had i not gotten a expert opinion.

and not that my injury is anything close to what bubba is rumored to have, but my point is, everyone has a different pain threshold. get hurt enough over your lifetime and the pain just isnt as strong as it used to be. hell, ive broken my collar bones so many times (supposedly the most painful bone in the body to break) that i dont even feel it anymore when it happens, i go by a "clicking" sound to know if its broken or not.

lord knows bubba has had his share. and after what we saw him do in daytona, i put nothing past him. i'd almost EXPECT him to continue racing with a broken femur. hes a warrior.

but the rumors coming thru are saying he's not that hurt so that is good. i hope the rumors (the ones downplaying his injuries) are true.

Yeah, I think your source can't tell a femur from a wrist, or the black guy from the white guy.

Thanks Scottie. That was quite a shocker for someone who missed the race last night and came right to Vital for the straight story. Laughing Still a bummer that someone broke a pelvis though. Get well soon Matt!!Laughing
