Yamaha's brash actions in GP's
If you read the front page story Lewis is reporting Yamaha in Europe breaking ties with current teams and going a complete other direction. Bold move, but they need it. Maybe? Obviously lot of peeps wanting to keep high paid jobs and not let R&D go to other companies or the USA. Be good to get more insight from insiders in GP circles.
Also reports of Gajser traveling to the USA off his own bat?? to work with Star on developing him an engine after complaining his GP engine was slow and lazy, and having better success with Star setup the rest of season. Lewis says using THE Star engine but it can't be given different fuel and noise levels, so is it from a Nations engine package previously? Or started at a clean slate and developed specifically for Tim? Whole bunch of questions there.
One major question. How can Tim pay for engine development for GP use, get something good and useful, but a platform for USA riders is too expensive or can't be developed in time to make it to the Nations? Crazy times!
I still do not get it. It's like if Yamaha looked at Triumph's rise in MX2 in 2 years and said "i want that! But with my own ammount of bureaucracy and in Italy!" because that apparently screams success to Yami's hunchos in Japan.
And yet people say if Febvre can win on his Kawi in GP’s the bike must be good in the USA and Sexton and Prado just aren’t good.
Febvre only won because Gajser and Herlings were hurt, and Coenen imploded.
And he rides how Tomac, RV and Stewart ride, which is steering with the rear.
Febvre is better than that.

Gasjers bike out of the gate was lethargic. It was embarrassingly dull.
I also can see Yamaha remounting a challenge in the MX2 class. One thing I did notice is in The GP’s the factory Yamaha 250’s were most often the only Yamahas on the gate.
