That would be remarkable carrier if not for RC and MC who set a standard he`s being compared to.

That is a very impresive career. Even if he never wins another title which is very unlikely.

5 national titles and 2 regional, not to shabby. I bet he will end up with 7 or 8 by the time it's all said and done.

07 was not really a crash out. If you go back and watch Washougal it was about as innocuous an incident as you could come up. Slow turn and I'm not sure he even hit the ground. It was a bit like RV losing his knee in 09 after Glen Helen and RC in the off season in 03 to miss 04.

I don't think he would have won 06 MX regardless; it would have been a helluva battle (and was) with Carmichael in any event. 06 SX had a lot of controversy. Wasn't the SX crash then, too, was as much an issue with the bike not starting, a bit like the incident RV had last year a couple rounds before he broke his leg?

Hard to say with 05 SX/ he had no chance on the 250 smoker against the 450's ourdoors. You had to see that bike in action to know what a handicap it was. RC was no fool walking from Kawi when they didn't have a 450 in the pipeline.

There's little doubt he would have won the 125 title in 03 if he hadn't broken his collarbone at Las Vegas and missed the first 4 rounds.

I'm not sure what the merit is of counting 125 regionals in SX. It's short season. I think RC as well tossed away his first year.

Realistically, maybe two more titles

What if RC never went to Honda and stayed with Kawi for his whole career?

Good point. Add Albee to that list also. Careers like Ricky's and McGrath's who missed very few races due to injury are the exception not the norm.

Not sure how many he could have won, but that is an incredible career for a guy who just turned 25 in December.

Damn, so far his career is like the black and red blocks on a roulet table. 50/50 chance- Either win it all, or crash out.

FTE beat me to it. And yes, what about that guy?

I often told friends years back that he has lost more than he has won due to crashing.
He is incredible on a bike. I remember watching a national and he scrubbed for one of the first times and David Bailey was commentating. He was totally amazed and what he just did, lost his train of thought. 'did you see that!' To amaze the icon says something about his ability.
Just needs to slow down and go fast enough to win, but I don't think he can do that.
He is in hyper-speed doing and clearing things no one even contemplates and that is his only speed.

yeah, there were and are a lot of riders you can ask the same question about, but Stewart's getoff at Daytona got me thinking. Hope the 2011 SX season isn't history repeating itself. Not to take anything away from Villo, Dungey & Reed.
