Hello Vital!
I will attend A1 for the first time ever, flying in from Sweden.
A few questions, if you Pros have time to answer.
- How's parking in-out, will you sit on the parking lot 1-2h after the race is over waiting to get out?
- How's traffic in the area, I'm planning on staying in Costa Mesa (as it's familiar, been there before). Going North/South in that case, will it be heavy traffic to/from ?
- If you would stay in the hotels to the east from the stadium instead, close to the Disney resort, is it walking distance/dangerous walk? Rider shares maybe preferred?
- Any good advice for a first timer at A1?
cheers! See you there!
There won’t be much traffic at all on a Saturday afternoon. Once you get on the 55 North you’ll be at the stadium in 15 minutes from Costa Mesa. Traffic getting out of the stadium always sucks unless you leave early. I suggest parking across the street at Katella and Stadium Xing, there’s a parking structure there for the stadium and it’s much easier to get in and out of.
there’s also a couple of places to eat there as well if you want to go a little earlier.
A1 is always a great time, have fun!
Parking is something like $50+, so that’s something to keep in mind as well
Get 300 level seats, club level, 1st upper deck.
View is excellent and only 7 rows if I remember right.
We’ve only attended A1 once, it was a couple of years ago and we stayed in a hotel west of the stadium.
Then we took an Uber to and from the race.
It worked well for us and we would do it that way again.

!!!
Uber to and from Stadium from hotel 5min drive away. I typically walk 3-5 min away from Stadium when leaving since traffic is one way out from parking.
Have had car one time and there was no issue with leaving, maybe 20-25min max waiting time.
We have gone the past three years and are again this year...we take our youngest to Disneyland a couple days, then hit the race. We stay at the SunCoast Park Hotel which is between Disneyland and Angel Stadium. Great hotel with good breakfast and a reasonably priced restaurant/bar. We just Uber to the stadium (was about $10 if I recall). After trying to Uber out year 1 (which was a disaster with traffic), the last two years we simply walked back from the Stadium. Its under a 2 mile walk with lots of places to stop and grab food or a drink going back to the hotel.
You’ll love it.
It’s easy driving in and out of the stadium. The only part that’s a little annoying is waiting in line to leave if you stay to watch the entire 450 main and podium celebrations but it’s not horrible compared to some other stadiums or nationals. Costa Mesa is the perfect place to stay imo. You should have tons of fun.
Parking and traffic was fine when I went. In and out pretty quick. We stayed in one of the Disney hotels and it was fine. My only recommendation is to arrive as soon as the parking lot opens. Bring a monster can(one per person) so you can go in the pits. Pits are really close to stadium so you can go back and forth as you desire.
We watched the A practices and went in pits for the other ones.
If you get a hotel near the stadium I would just Uber/Lyft.
Getting out of LAX can be annoying if it's busy.
A1 is a supercross everyone should attend at least once. Even if Feld ruined it with way too early of a start and daytime fireworks.
