I purchased this months ago then had to custom order new foam because it wasn't in stock... Finally getting around to installing it long after return period. Was the seat cover made too short or do you just have to stretch the hell out of it? First time replacing, foam was purchased from the supplier that FX referred me to. Is the front of the seat fully into the pocket of the cover?  If it is, then I'd say that cover is too short.  If you aggressively stretch that to the back to get enough material to staple, it might be so taut that it will cause the seat base to bow up at the front and back.   I am not much of a "looks" guy when it comes to bikes, but one of my peeves is when the seat has ugly gaps at the edges from the cover being too tight.  This is especially common on older bikes were the base might already be warped.
