He wants his brother to make his own name in the sport, not free ride under his brother.

If I was Malcom I wouldn't wanna ride under my brother.
I wouldn't wanna hear people say stupid crap like "He is only here because his brother is james and blah blah"

And maybe Malcom wants to ride outdoors too?
