Triumph should’ve did everything possible to get Farres back to the US on a 250c he would be a title contender for sure. Their 250 US effort is seriously lacking.

I know its more complicated than that but these out of europe rounds should be together with the biggest rounds of the country's national races.
And I agree with that other fella here, I'd swap Turkye for Japan in a heartbeat. They gotta go to America too.
Anyway...

It's a 40 hour drive without stopping to get to the track from where the riders are based. (Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney)

The amount of people that live within a 24 hour drive of the track is probably around 350k and Australia has a population of 28M.

It's actually a longer trip for the Aussie teams to get there than it is for the European teams to get to Afyon.

It's like if they had a US GP in Alaska, sucks for the Aussie fans that would've liked to have seen a GP in person but they were the only local/state government willing to provide the funding I guess.

Great event but definitely need to do something to try get more riders there would be a lot more impressive with 40 riders on the grid

Also along way from anywhere in Aus so hard to get a lot of people or teams there

I live in Melbourne, i had a cheaper complete package deal to go to the China round than the Darwin round.

I've heard that, and from a tourist point of view would you rather take a trip to Shanghai or Darwin? Not to mention it was significantly cheaper to go to the Indonesian GPs than Darwin when they were being held. Just doesn't make sense to go to unless you're one of very few people who live in or close to Darwin or you just don't want to go to a foreign country.
