We just had the water company show up this morning to hang a notice on our front door to tell us that we must have a water leak again ….. 😱
At least with the new reading system that they had installed at every house they can now detect leaks like this.
While he was talking to my wife out by the water meter I shut off the water outside to see if the meter was still going and I quickly went and looked at the areas where there were no signs of leaks inside the house like the 4 before and it was nothing.
When I went outside while they were checking the the meter and when I looked where the water leak had been outside and there was still a little low spot where they had dug and there was a little lake in it so thats where it is again.
God I hope it is not under the concrete slab!
I think moving would be cheaper at this point.

Last time was 4 or 5 years ago and I think it was $600 so if its the same as last time it will probably be $1000 today and we do have good homeowners insurance.
Last time it was right where the sewer and water lines crossed and they put a bandaid slip on sharkbite on it so this might be where it is.

Shark Bites are a temp fix while you run to get the correct parts. Is your main copper, pex, PVC, poly, CPVC?
Chasing leaks on insulated lines or, in a ceiling are also fun.
This is outside between the meter and going into the foundation.
We called the same plumbing company that had repaired it before and was a few inches away from the last one that was fixed.
He looked up the last one and and said the price was a little higher at $700 and the repair took him about 4 hours and he even started with the outside faucets to completely flush out any dirt that may had gotten into the line and he made sure that every faucet inside was flushed out.
I was thinking the same thing.
Heh....talk to me about water leak damage. A year ago, a leak in the wall wrecked our wood floors and some cabinets in the kitchen. Can't match the floor area that was damaged so insurance was on the hook for ALL of the wood floor throughout the house. Instead of just repairing, we did a kitchen remodel. New cabs...newer appliances, LVP (waterproof) floors. We also did a full copper repipe to bypass the plumbing in the slab throughout the home. A 30 year old home from an era of shitty copper pipes, it's not if...but when. All said and done, into the 6 figures (but using what the insurance paid out to repair the damage too)
...but now we've got the kitchen of our dreams.
This sounds almost exactly like what happened to my brother inlaw a few years ago. By the time they were done their home got a huge upgrade. New floors and complete new kitchen. Insurance paid for everything.
Oh no, sorry...Insurance did not pay for everything in our case...not even close. They paid to repair/replace the only the damaged cabinets and replace all the wood floors (where existing) We took that money and used it towards a whole new kitchen, the repipe and floors (including adding the "wood" floors in areas that were carpeted). So basically the insurance pay out was about 16% of the total remodel.
It's something we intended to do down the road anyway. The water leak just moved up the time table.
The first time we didn’t replace the linoleum floor and put that $ into re piping the whole house instead. What they did do was leave a couple feet of the old after it came out of the concrete and that section had another leak a couple years later that took out the carpeting and linoleum and that time we did hard wood floors on both stories except the bedrooms that were left carpet.
We also have had 2 roofs replaced due to hail.
I would be going out of my mine if I had to deal with all that.😡
The entire neighborhood was built with the same cheap crappy brand of pipe and they went bankrupt so everyone has had at least 1 or more leaks.
Have all your leaks been underground under the slab or out in your yard?
One was under slab last winter when I noticed the concrete was warm in a spot barefoot
