Moto 1 at Iron Man is why the sport needs Cardo or similar comms

Not entering into the comms debate, but I was dumbfounded by what the commentators were offering; which wasn’t much. Stew said a few times that Jett was off balance, but that was about it, otherwise it was “emotions” and theories about waiting for Hunter.

I was as confused as anyone else, so I really focused on what Jett was doing and it soon became apparent that he was carrying his right foot. It was regularly off the peg when it should have been on, and you could see him struggling to grip the bike and shift his weight where he needed too. I didn’t know when it happened, however it wasn’t hard to see that something was physically wrong.
How did someone, anyone, in the broadcast team, not study Jett and pickup on that?

Eh. Even in F1 it's pretty common to hear the drivers get absolutely pissed if their Race Engineers talk to them in braking zones etc. What they're doing is extremely physical and requires concentration. F1 gets away with it because the races are long enough that they require pit stops, so some degree of race strategy/coordination is necessary.

Motorcycles are even more physical and intense than cars; I cannot imagine someone talking to riders on an MX track or otherwise, just so the fans can hear their reaction (and then the AMA can penalize them when they curse or something). They keep trying this in MotoGP as well and it keeps getting punted for being dangerous.

Yeah, Weege's inner wrestler keeps coming out with the drama creation.  Just call the race.  

I’m all for modern communications in MX, but I doubt riders will ever talk about their injuries over the radio. 

The benefit of comms would/should be to notify riders of hazards or emergencies.
