Me and SEEM are old...to us hoods are the things on cars ,not a clothing feature.
We had them in the 80's of course, but it wasn't a style trend to use them till some time in the 90's.

We were driving to school one day, and my friend's hot rod Belvedere backfired and the hood blew up on us, but that was totally unintentional. 🤣
Honestly, if you wore the hood over your head in the late 70's/early 80's...your perfectly combed feathered hair, when you took the hood off, would then have stood straight out from your head in a static electricity fit like you were in sudden danger of being struck by lightening.

I'm like "people who drive with their hood up"? Like what does that even mean? Today I saw a challenger with pins in the corners, the hood was not latched down but held there by the hair pins. So like 1/2-3/4" up. Is that what you mean? So confused. Please explain for the dumb people here (me).
