Similar to the top five favorite movies thread, ten just isn't close to enough.
1) Depeche Mode - Everything Counts
2) Tears for Fears - Change
3) Naked Eyes- Promises, Promises
4) Psychadellic Furs - Love my Way
5) Talk Talk - Talk Talk (only song where the band and the album and the song same name)
6) Squeeze - Tempted
7) Devo - Girl U want
8) Romeo Void - Never say Never
9) The Cars - Bye Bye Love
10) Graetful Dead - Box of Rain
As you can see I was mostly an eighties alternative MTV kid.
Some definitely great songs on the list. I really liked that first Tears for Fears album, but my favorite on that LP was Pale Shelter. Mad World was okay but didn’t really sound as good as the later cover of it.
Been thinking about my top 10 since I was 12. Still cant make up my mind.
Tough to single out particular songs from a disc that's listened to from beginning to end.
But, not in any order...
Southern accent, Tom Petty.
Thrill is gone, BB king with Joan Armatrading.
Nadia, Jeff Beck.
Sell my soul for rock and roll, Kingfish.
Ida Mae, Buddy Guy.
Hey bulldog, Beatles.
Welcome to the machine, Pink Floyd.
Can you hear me knockin, the Stones.
Lenny, SRV.
Circle, Big Head Todd and the Monster's.
Like Borg said, I can't make up my mind. Here's what the top 10 are at 10:15 on a Tuesday morning, subject to change. I almost have to disqualify Rush, because I could maybe fill the first ten of my top 20 with them. However:
