I've seen this before. It is the patent I was talking about in the New RMZ thread. Its thought to be a potential electric powertrain to retrofit the current generation RMZ chassis to electric. When it was first reported on I read as much as I could find on it and that was the speculation from some of the reporters based on the details of the patent.
Which I think would be really cool, if they made a kit that fit the current generation chassis it could drive some traffic to Suzuki dealers . If the finished product performed well it could even help give used RMZ's a boost in resale value for people buying them to convert.
I’m sure it could, but I’m not sure if there’s as big of a market as there was several years ago.
The e-dirt bikes are starting to bridge the gap slightly - Bonnell, ERide Pro SR, Stark, Dust (when it happens).
it's from 2024 so old news at this point
^^^Yeah it is. If you look at all the e dirt bike conversions, most of them are 2 years or older. It’s becoming a past thing. Smaller, simpler e-dirt bikes (Surron, Talaria, ERide, Arctic Leopard) are the main market atm. But it’s an ever changing thing. Right now, there’s still no good races or series for e-dirt bikes. There’s no way tell where it will end up.

Suzuki had also been exploring a kit to retrofit RM125 motors into the modern RMZ chassis. They even had a display at LL back in 2017 or 2018, but ultimately nothing came from it. I imagine a lawyer somewhere within corporate would be the ax on it due to feared liability issues over improper installs.
