My local casino comped us 2 free tickets to attend the Charlotte USA / Mexico All Stars Soccer match.

This was the 1st time that I have ever ridden in the light rail from the 1st stop in the south up to Bank of America stadium up town Charlotte. When we got on the light rail there was only a couple of other people on board and after the stops on the way it filled up like sardines and just about everyone was headed to the stadium.

Being green to Pro soccer the game was really good we don’t understand why the 1st half 3 minutes was added and the 2nd half had 6 minutes added.

Did you notice all the really acting…”Oh, I’m hurt!” from a player that was trying to get a yellow or red card given to another player…and then, all of a sudden…the original drama Queen player isn’t hurt…?

All those stops and pauses take time and that time is added to the end of the half.

The flopping is way outta hand by every single player. Embarrassing, actually.

That's why when I played, if I was going to get carded, it was damn well deserved.

The flopping seems to stop if you smoke him for real a time or 2.

I coach high school hockey, one of my assistant coaches is the head boys high school coach.  I asked him a couple of weeks ago how he survives with all that drama of near death on the field.  Hockey, you get stitches and go right back in.  He did laugh though.

Now that you mention it I Saw a couple of them full steam running hit hard but they all got up pretty quick. One time the other guy walked back and reached his hand out and helped him get back up which I thought was great sportsmanship.

Manny that makes sense for time added because the clock never stopped.

I think the official time of a half is always kept by the ref on the field and the time displayed on the big screen or tv is just a very close estimate.

Hence your thoughts of halfs being extended.

I could be very wrong

Yes, halves are officially 45 minutes long. The clock never stops, but the ref's watch does.

The ref, (or an official time keeper) adds injury time for play stoppage.

Quite the night life up town with all the bars

I didn't mention that leaving and headed to 485 we got a 2 for 1 ride on the light rail and public bus system when 3 stops down one of the light rail trains in front of ours broke down so we all had to get off and walk to get on a bus. The bus for all of us that didnt uber took about 30 minutes.
