Not a lot of info out there on different Rideology tunes and maps for the 2025 / 2026 KX 250. I’ve been experimenting with mine quite a bit so I thought I’d share what worked for me and I’d certainly like to hear about what success others have had.
Once I started making changes to the tune, I was actually quite surprised at how much small changes in the maps could improve things. Important disclaimer: the maps shown below are for woods and enduro type of riding that I do exclusively. Not MX.
My first mod that I did was to put the Tusk Quick Draw air filter cage and filter on. Which I think woke up the bike nicely as I got rid of the restrictive backfire screen on the stock filter set up. I noticed the bike was starting to flame out at low rpm when crawling. This is where I started playing around with tuning. I actually created an extensive prompt with AI in which I’d go ride and report back, modify tune, ride again, repeat. It was actually pretty fun process to dial it in. I’ve got some level of tuning background from tuning blown Chevy LS engines. So it wasn’t all foreign to me. But no tuning on dirt bikes. So the help from AI was good.
With just the Tusk filter system and stock exhaust, I retarded some timing down low and advanced it on top. For fuel, I added some fuel down low, and leaned it out up top. Engine felt much better than stock.
I then put on a full FMF titanium system. This changed the power characteristics of the bike. More top end pull, but took away a bit of the bottom end. So I went on a quest to modify the map to get the bottom end back…which I was successful in doing. Took a little more fuel and timing in a certain spots but the changes really brought the power back.
Last mod I did to my bike was put a 51T rear sprocket on. With the Tusk filter, FMF full exhaust, 51T sprocket, and the tuning above…I was really blown away at what a different bike this was compared to stock. So much more power and really fun and playful.
Anyway…thought I’d share in case this helps someone.

How is the engine braking before and after these changes?
I wasn’t paying attention to engine braking so I can’t give any feedback there. I do know that some of the MX based tunes focus on this and have opposite settings (like the Keefer tune). For what it’s worth…I tried the Keefer tune and it felt bad to me. Down on power and the top end seemed to sign off early. But again…I woods ride and not MX. I was focused on good tractability slow and down low in rpm range with no flameout…combined with a nice mid range hit and a long pull on top.
