Was just on the Aus MXoN team thread and was pondering potential teams for different countries and wow I really think Spain has an outside shot at it.
MX1 Prado
MX2 Farres
MX3 Fernandez
Belgium will be strong too, France will be strong as always, USA could be sneaky good too with ET, JuJu, and Deegs/JC32/Marchbanks. It being in France on the slick hardpack could play into ET and JuJu’s hands.
If those three go, Spain will actually be really hard to beat. Prado is better than Everts. Fernandez is better than Everts. Farres has been as good as Sacha. Prado/Fernandez should be too far behind Lucas in the results. IMO, I think Spain should be the ones to beat. France is always good tho. Be interesting to see what Netherlands do for a team this year.
I think Belgium is a favorite, not a dark horse. Latvia might be a dark horse.
I love our USA guys but I don't know how you beat Belgium if the young brother doesn't crash his brains out. I mean, considering the Lawrences brothers are not doing it this year of course.
For the USA, I was really excited with J-Coop. You can tell he's been slowly getting better and super consistent. Sucks we lost him. I would think he wont have much of a hole to dig out of once he is back? Eli is always good and AP was looking real good before his latest injury.
On our 250 side. Who the hell knows.
Kinda would have been sick to see somthing like J-Coop, Eli and even Deegs back on the 250. That, IMO, would have been a real good shot. Deegs is riding REALLY good on the 450 but on the 250 you can almost count on a really good result. Enough to not put you in a hole or anything.
And yea I left out Sexton because well ever since he left KTM I dont know. He really looked like we was starting to do work on that KTM.
Actually good point about Juju. That track should suit him perfectly.
I'd say with Australia out and the US without Sexton I'd put Spain as THE favorites.
If I was in charge of team USA I'd convince Deegan to ride a 250, get Tomac and Jcoop and they can win

On paper Belgium will be favourites; the Coenen brothers are good enough to win their classes and Everts has proved he can run top ten on the 450.
France will be close behind with Febvre, Vialle, Reneaux and Valin to choose from. Not quite as strong a lineup but home advantage probably makes them almost lineball with Belgium.
Spain will be dark horse contenders for the win if Belgium and/or France have difficult days.
Assuming Eli is back to form and wants to go the best team would be Eli, Deegan and who the hell knows on a 250. Problem is that realistically, if winning is the goal, Tomac and Deegan will have to ride really well just to get top 5 finishes and the 250 guy, regardless of who it is, won’t be enough to make up for that. Podium spot is more realistic but they’ll have to get through at least one of the three above.
Then there’s a bunch of teams who have 1-2 good riders but the third is a major problem - think Netherlands, Italy, Germany etc. USA could really just be toward the top of this pack.
Australia probably won’t be a podium threat unless there’s some really weird results.
