So I made up a jig from the existing modified frame to be able to replicate the perfect shock position and hold all the pieces in place while being welded back together.

The upper sub frame and seat mounting position and rear fender mount were raised 1 inch from stock position. To allow for the longer suspension travel in the rear. To achieve this, the upper frame rails were cut off and turned upside down where they attached to the main backbone.F6D8E8C9-4A2B-4978-959A-57D1CA7D873E

Checking the fit of the shocks, and the swing arm before final welding is done.

Test fitting up some more parts to make sure everything fits properly and to locate bracket attachment points to attach the parts before I go any further with anymore welding.

Since the complete rear subframe section is moved up, 1 inch from stock, I have to move the lower tabs for the straps to hold down the lower part of the number plate. They also had to be moved up 1 inch.

Impressed with your engineering process, skills and desire to make a bike that reflects the golden era of moto. Wish i still had the mxa mags from the 70s. As a kid i lived by Saddleback and cut school to go ride and watch the pros, bikes were always so cool.

I had a 77 CR125, but at the time my dreambike Maico 250.
