Water contamination in Rev-x Max Power bottles?

Like a lot of riders, I was very impressed by the MXA feature article a while back where they torture tested a bike at Glen Helen using Rev-x Max Power additive in the oil with the cooling system removed from the bike, and found no wear in the engine. I started using Max Power, which only comes in little 2 ounce bottles with a thin foil seal. After about the third bottle I noticed it coming out murky looking and not clear, as if it had absorbed water. I threw that bottle out, but the next one looked the same. Not clear and golden like fresh oil. It's only obvious when you pour it into another container because the bottle is so small. It's the same plastic pitcher I measure oil in, and it is always clean before use.

So I'm thinking they have a quality control problem with the thin seal allowing humidity through,  and it could be happening in stockrooms or after purchase and storage. I keep my oils indoors under climate control. Maybe this stuff is much more hygroscopic than oil. Anyone else notice this?

Impossible to answer without knowing the ingredients.

Mineral oil is hydrophobic

Well I should have just called them when I first noticed it.  Talked to Andy at Rev-x just now and he said it can get cloudy if it gets hot during shipping.  Doesn't affect it performance wise. Said people have brought this up for 20 years now. Duh.

What are you trying to solve for with this additive?

An oil friction modifier is exactly what you don't want in a motorcycle wet clutch. It's one of the reasons for not using "car" oil in dirt bikes, and we have the JASO MA 1 and MA2 oil standards.  Friction modifiers in oil lead to wet clutch slippage.

You will have better engine protection benefits from changing your oil more frequently with right spec oil than treating it with an additive,  and risking destoying your clutch pack.

I was initally intrigued with the torture test  (riding a bike with no radiators), but a real test would set a baseline by riding the bike without radiators and no oil additive.
A rider that doesn't abuse the clutch should be able to get by with no radiator for 20 minutes of fast riding on a dry course?
