I put the stock reed cage back in the bike. Problem solved. It idles down consistently and also has a nice steady idle now. WTH? I have not heard of vforce reeds causing this before. Now I am trying to find out if I just had them installed wrong. I used both gaskets that came with them, one in between the cage and the cylinder, and one between the cage and manifold, and no spacer. Is this not the correct way? Only one gasket needed? Spacer is better?
when not using the block spacer on the yz250, there is potential for the reeds to contact the inside of the cylinder when opening. Not sure if that was the issue, but it may have been.
