Not sure where to begin with this post, so let's just start with... who needs a Saturday ticket... ** Update - Ticket has been claimed by Vital member TriRacer27 ๐
Moving on to Friday, I have not attended a Thunder Valley Friday practice / race ( WMX Moto 1 ) ... Is the schedule I'm seeing for Friday, all women's moto practice, or is this for all the regular factory guys i.e., Lawrence Bros., Coenen Bros., Deegan, Sexton, AP7 ???

And for the track itself... I haven't ridden here for over a year, but I remember last year's national ( and the 10+ years prior ) after the finish line, the track went behind the starting gate. For this year, from the photos I've seen, it looks like right after the finish line, it will be a near, 180ยฐ turn and go right back up the hill, cutting out the long lane of rollers. As a spectator, it doesn't look great in my opinion. How does everyone's else feel about it??

Where your green arrow is,is how the track was last year.
You donโt have access to your email?โฆ.
If I get it figured out, I can definitely email it.
Or, I can see if I leaving the paper printout at the gate is an option.
Although I did like the rough sand roller section behind the start, I always did think it was kind of odd.

I'll take it!
Just got into town from Texas with the boys, excited to go catch some racing.
yeah, they cut out those rollers and now it's just a 180 back uphill.
TriRacer - you got it!
*** I just saw your DM, I'll finalize with you thru that ๐
out of the whole post this is what you thought to reply? lol.
Good on OP for hooking someone up.
I mean, he is a self proclaimed, ' Deegan realist ' ....
I wouldn't expect anything less from a Deegan nut hugger! ๐คช
Those rollers/whoops haven't really been there for a few years now. They kept making them smaller and smaller and last year they removed that section all together. I think. Like 2021/2022 they were massive.
It looks like this year they extended the track to go uphill twice near the thunder valley sign. ๐คท
Yea I think youโre right. Thatโs the spot where baggett blew the doors off Eli circa 2017? 2018? Blake was something else that year until he hurt his thumb.
Yeah, the loop behind the start has been gone for at least a year.
But the worse change in my opinion is at the top of the hill. They shortened the run up the hill and created a down/up/down there. A couple years ago we were sitting just off the fence there and Tomac made a run on the outside for like 6 straight laps trying to get by Kenny. It was wild how he flew over the top wide open and then massive full brakes on the downslope for the left handerโฆ. On like the 6th attempt, they came together going for the inside and Ken held the line and Eli popped over the berm and lost like 4 seconds getting back on the main line. I think they were battling for the overall.
Holy shit the triple step up is HUGE
Also, I love how the first turn is shown in that illustration as light colored dirtโฆ. They often put enough manure there to turn the entire turn into a dark carbon grey color.
It was put in to increase the lap time so it was just over 2 minutes, which was the minimum for a national track. Glad its back to the old way which is way more fun to rail the berm after the finish line to rocket up the start hill. They Have added and changed the other parts to make up for it.
Yeah, 2022. Kenny's last win with Honda. That was a sick race!

Anybody after watching practice Friday, specifically Coenan think the same thing? First thing I thought of. Same colorway..
Pit Row
No wonder JT$ was pleading the 5th and wouldn't hint at the Coenen gear. Too rad!
Weird how Sacha looks taller than James Stuart.
To be fair Bilbo Baggins is taller than Stew
