It's been suggested many times that Chase isn't the same rider when lining up against Jett. I thought I'd take a look at the numbers and see if there's any substance to that assertion.
Here's what the numbers say when overlaying Chase's 450 career results with Jett's presence on the gate...
There definitely appears to be a difference in trend between the era before Jett and since Jett entered the class.

On a shorter time frame, there are two clear periods when Jett was out that Chase's results suddenly improved, then fell away again as soon as Jett returned.

He's a headcase doing headcase things
Chase just had one of his worst 450 SX Seasons ever with Jett not racing a single race. And his worst in 4 years. Looks more like a Kawi effect to me
Its the Kiwi effect. Chase is just dyslexic and confused the two.
Yet he still won 2 races.

Odds on this? He has burnt a lot of bridges, and honestly, he's more of a liability than an asset at this point.
The most Chase thing to me was the Arlington triple crown. I still can't believe he already had the overall win in the bag, just had to cruise in 2nd or 3rd in the last race, decided to still go for the race win, ran into Webb, crashed and finished in 5th. He got 3rd overall instead of 1st. That was a 8 point swing between him and Webb. He lost the championship by 2 points..
Jett wasn't there last year and he had multiple moments but that one takes the crown for me
