Hi everyone, we are attending for the first time this weekend's 2026 Hangtown Classic MX on Saturday and wondering about suggested parking options for parking away from the actual track to avoid the long ques in and out of the track's carpark. We are happy to walk 30+ mins if needed to avoid potential hours getting in and out. We naively drove into Pala/Fox Raceway last weekend and it was 2 hours in and 3 hours out, and we should have just walked from the Pala casino where we had booked for the night.
Thanks in advance!
Hangtown should not anywhere near that bad as far as getting in or out, but I never leave in the midst of the pack, so not 100% sure. I don't believe there are really any options for parking outside of the park because the OHV area is kind of remote and street parking outside of the park is not allowed I don't believe. We always park in general parking somewhere close to the entrance (so we are close to the exit) and watch the last few minutes of 450 moto 2 standing on the hill on the west side of the track already all packed up. When the checkers wave we walk straight to the car and can always get off the property in less than 15 minutes. If you wait for the mob to leave, not sure how long it would take.
If you are doing the full day I would recommend getting there before 8am to watch all of practice, snag a good spot and have little to no issues getting in. You can bring in a cooler for drinks, just no glass, and hide the alcohol at the bottom. Usually some decent food vendors and weather looks pretty good (hot day is Friday then cooler on Saturday). Set up on the west side of the track IMO, then the sun is mostly behind you by the time the motos start. Have fun, it is a great track for spectating as long as you bring sunblock!
I haven't been in 5 years now that I live in Georgia but I went every year for 20 years prior. Hangtown is one of the best in my opinion for getting in and out. They do a good job. I do go in early (like 7:30) but I usually leave right after and the traffic moves pretty well. You can park on the left side up by the step up or over by start area. They are two different entrances. I always go left at the stop sign on White Rock Rd (it maybe a light now). Then right on Scott and follow parking signs. It always seems to be a little less traffic going that way.
It's one of if not the best track for viewing in my opinion. I think the best viewing is on the step up side. You can see about 95% of the track from the fence by the step up. That's why I say park on the left side. The only bad thing being on that side is if you want to go into the pits. It's quite the walk from that side of the track. If you want a place by the fence get there early. Bring unbrellas or some type of shade. No real trees to hide under. Have fun.
Last year getting in was worst I've ever seen it. Getting out not so bad. But getting in took 2 hours. They had to open the back gate for overflow.
Thankyou for the detailed advice.
Do you know if the Scott Road entrance will be open this year? I have messaged the Hangtown Classic MX Facey page but no response regarding that entrance option. It's less used apparently and we are coming from that direction being opposite to Sacramento and felt this would be a good route in. Have 4 hrs to travel in the morning to get there so struggling to make it pre 9am..🤦😅

Waited in line for over an hour and a half at Hangtown. Finally got to parking area and was told lot was full. Had to turn around and get back in line. Going on 2 hours now. Guess I’ll be missing first motos. Never again
Wow
Did you make it baw?
Nope, directed me to pit overflow parking then had to climb a steep hill then scale a fence by their own direction. Got there mid first moto of 450. Smh
This may be an ongoing issue at all of the Nationals with this years star power. I have no idea on numbers but Pala looked to have double the crowd from 2025
