Speed on the other hand assumes that anyone watching is more educated about the sport and wouldn't benefit from the hand holding and supercross 101 b.s that saturates the Cbs coverage. The reason that feld pursued the Cbs deal is because they want to fill seats and to do that they have to find new customers who have never been exposed to Supercross before and make them fans. The problem is that to do that they have to ignore or at least not cater to the hard core fans that built the sport.

The coverage is terrible to anyone who understands, has participated in and who loves the sport, its just hard to watch it get butchered so badly.

The 46 second lap times make for a 6 minute qualifier, a 3 minute LCQ and a 12 or 13 minute main. Thats about a 30 minute program. While that leaves 30 minutes for the rest of the show, they are shooting for the main stream fan not people like us who want to see all the races. I'm dissapointed with 1 qualifier and highlights. Maybe an email campaign to Feld Entertainmaent to get more coverage. It's still better than Motoworld highlights.

You know what, as far as CBS goes, it is what it is, and the CBS coverage SUCKS. I know Racer-X tried to tell us it is the same people, and it is just our imagination, but their full of shit.

I know that the TV crews are the same but there is something different between the two. IMO i feel like theres a lot more commercials when the races are shown on CBS. Is there cost difference between the two, as far as having them aired?

The dumb-asses at Feld do not realize that showing all those crashes to market the sport is bad for the sport. If they showed James pulling up at the stadium in a Ferrari or being handed checks on the podium,that would be much better. Wink

The average Mom & Dad watching all those crashes will never get jr. that pw50,however they might buy a ticket. Wink
A friend of mine and I were talking about that same thing. Many parents saw that broadcast and decided that their kid/s would never have a dirt bike after viewing the endless crash reels. Shit like that hurts bike sales.
