I watched a press day video from VURB yesterday, and I was just baffled. Hard questions? Don't try to be a journalist in motorsports... report and entertain.

This stuff isn't news, it's entertainment. Once every 4-5 years something "newsworthy" comes along. I cringed watching it, and thought I'd speak for Chad Reed, because you KNOW this was his REAL response.

No complaint, just my opinion.

Asking Reed how he feels about being outside of the top 5? How do you think he feels? It's racing, he wants to win It's a dumb question they labeled as hard hitting stuff... I'd rather they took the time and opportunity to entertain me rather than ask "WHY U SUCK?" Over and over again.

Maybe I expect more? That whole piece came off as a pair of tits asking "searing" questions, that weren't.

I'm sure in addition to her looks, she's a bright individual - but that's my take on the whole thing. I like Vurbmoto, I like Vital, everyone is trying to stand out but at the end of the day this is racing. Ad/Sponsorship rules. Lets all agree on that.

I would agree with that 100%. She was holding the mic. This is my impression of the whole piece summed up in one picture.

It's more of a commentary than an attack. I know some of the guys at Vurb, and this didn't measure up to what I thought was coming.

It's a conversation starter... Reed commented on the whole "cheater" bike thing... take the time you have with him to enlighten us with THAT. That's good shit.

Scripted interviews?, I know in NBA and other top sports, they ask the question to the athlete prior to it actually being live, gives the person a chance to think what they are gonna say! In stead of a total suprise question they won t know how to answer. I ve been around the nba and nfl locker rooms, the media wants the best exposure for their channel or whoever they are working for!

I don't think it was scripted with the athlete. I think they were intentionally trying to ask what they thought were hard questions. They were obvious answers. Again, it's about time usage. I'll show you what I mean when I get mxsx.tv rolling.. LOL

Was it the usual sponsor handjob question? No.

I'm going to check out the Gibby interview. Vital has always done a great job of providing information and entertainment.

Like I said, racing isn't worthy of the word journalism. (Let me follow that statement up with I've spent the last 10+ years working in and around it... I LOVE IT.) I just want to see more stuff relevant to say @CRtwotwo twitter feed. There is a metric shit ton of stuff we don't know, I don't think it needs to be investigative/hard questions... the angle could be 1 of 100 things. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more hard questions... but these aren't hard questions, they just don't get asked because they are automatic.



There is a lot of stuff that can be covered, so I want to see that.

I agree, they were stupid questions. Telling Dungey he is not a top guy anymore after 2 rounds is completely stupid, and one of those round he finished 2nd and was running the same lap times as villopoto and stewart

you know what RC always said, the SX series doesnt really start to heat up until Daytona. He always just wanted to make it out of the west rounds alive and in the hunt.
