Soooooo much stuff framing inspectors miss. Then everyone continues on with the rough in.
Then 6mos + along come the trim carpenter's and custom cabinet guy.
Can't tell you how many headers I've had to cut an inch or more out of, sledge walls around door openings, literally reset windows, build cabinets over A/C vents after making plenums to run registers out my toe kicks, call the plumber back to move his bathroom stub outs, or the electrician to move outlets above my C-tops.
The last three because they still, after years of looking at prints, can't see the squares and rectangles denoting cabinets.
Oh, and staircases needing a complete reframing before you start because... math.
They make a closed quarter set of heads. I have the 1/2” through, 1 1/4” set. Those four heads with the jaws were $1800 there years ago. I’m not sure what they are now. The only thing they’re good for is having to press a fitting close to a wall, ceiling, floor or, in situations you can’t get the gun on straight.
Suddenly I'm realizing that I'd be better off working on my cabinet projects, and paying someone else to do this shit.
But it will make for one helluva multi day bonfire this fall.

Last time we cleared out trees and deadfall, we had a fire that went on for 9 days.

I split 5 cords of wood two summers ago after having two fir trees cut down. It’s nice having an emergency stack of wood when power goes out from time to time during the winter. It suck’s when you realize you’ve given mice free condos to live in.
And the black widow spiders, and scorpions.
Yes, but it gives the kids a place to do a little off season "Big Game Hunting".
I had a few trees taken down a few years ago... ...opened up the yard for a bigger garden.
Still cleaning up the mess.
We had two down on the front of the property that were getting a serious lean out over the road, and tall enough to take out powerlines if they went down.
Both were pines, so no great loss.
We've been back and forth about getting rid of all of the pines in front of the house for a better lake view.
sumwifes latest stained glass projects.

Those are really cool, especially like the Sasquatch one.😎💯
I do plumbing things. Fuck reverse osmosis water systems. What’s that saying? Ten pounds of shit in a five gallon bucket?

Still have two dishwasher lines to hook up
Oh man, we’ve completely lost all simplicity for a bunch of crap we don’t need. SMH
Where's the tank for the RO system?
Nope that's all good shit. Looks like a heater so you don't have to wait for hot water, an RO system for nice drinking water, and a shit ton of dishwasher hose. I remember the first time I replaced a garbage disposer, didn't know I had to remove the plug in the dishwasher port. The things you learn on the road of life.
TM
Exact system on different floor. Both systems have 14 gallon tanks

Faucet. Point of use water heater. Garbage disposal. Soap dispenser. R/O system with faucet on counter top. Air gap for dishwasher. Storage tanks are set in different cabinets. Icemaker is also tied into R/O. I’m waiting on a clip to better install the black line coming off the R/O filters. It needs an air gap but, because it flows continuously, I used a two hole strap and temporarily secured it. Flooding is always a big fear of mine. Especially with new systems.
Pit Row
Guys like you are always wanting to cut holes in my cabinets. 😕
There was a dead space in one of the cabinets that didn’t have a door where the counter changed directions. I had to drill a hole on each side and, fish the line going to one of the tanks through. Pain in the ass. I should’ve used a 8” hole saw. 😂
Is it that it's difficult for the next guy (plumber and electrician) or just a cost thing that most cabinets don't have backs?
All my cabinets have backs.
Hell, that's what squares them up when you're building them. Makes them stronger as well.
I also have router jigs for cutting square holes, 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, for any sidewall access a plumber, or audio tech may need.
Nice clean work Chance. My knees , neck and back hurt just thinking about doing that.
I just finished hooking up an R.O. system on our brew system, it's about a 1 quart/minute. I have been around R.O.s for years on a much bigger scale, like 3-300GPM units, so I'm used to how much concentrate they produce, and these big ones are really efficient compared to the household models.
My brew partner was floored by how much goes down the drain, but he wanted R.O., so he gets R.O.. 🤣
Can't say that I've ever seen that assembly removed like that, that wasn't in a collision.
Hahahaha! What a mess....
Probably caused by a kid working at a tire shop. Couple years back I had a similar situation while trying to inspect the brakes on my daughters car. Ended up replacing 3 studs that had been almost completely stripped out from someone who got over zealous with an air impact .
Most of my mechanic abilities i learned from my older brother and if he had just one big pet peeve it was starting a nut just a thread or two then grabbing an impact wrench to finish. He was adamant that nuts and bolts should be able to screw on most of the way wit your fingers. If not, grab a wire brush and go over the threads good, use some panther pee perhaps. Or maybe even a triangle file.
Everything I know about working on things , I learned from my Dad, he was an auto mechanic my entire life. Once I knocked a hole in the oil pan in my car and roached the engine. 2 days later he came home from work with everything needed to fix it and some tools and an engine hoist. He ate dinner and we went out in the garage at 5:30pm , pulled the engine out of the car, I watched dad rebuilt the lower end while explaining to me what he was doing. At 11:30pm , I started the car and backed out of the driveway and took it for a spin. No issues. I learned everything I know about mechanics from my dad.
