My daughter went with me to ride a few laps on the last day the track was open. I had been going there since 1973. First race there was on a Penton 125

My best memory is having the privilege of following Moates around the track that last day it was open- Marty was riding a YZ 450 with supermoto street tires mounted, and was still going faster than anyone else that day...

I think i raced against him on that bike at Fontana in 2003.
