Great job by Ralph and Erin reporting on a legit story. No accusations, just questions.

I'm guessing if Erin asked Larry about that during practice, he would have blown her off.

Yeah, I know.

I was actually hoping that at least someone on the broadcast team or associated with it would read the post and decide to take some pride in their craft and recognize their mistake. If they don't mention it again they simply say to the people "the stuff that we tell you doesn't mean shit." If they issue and apology they at least give you the idea that they have some journalistic integrity and want to bring you a quality product. An apology doesn't downgrade them it actually gives the more credibility IMHO.

P
They don't have a lot a credibility to begin with... remember, this is the crew that will dispatch Bates to stick a microphone in an injured rider's face while the race is still underway.

Let them manufacture their hype, they're gonna do it anyway. They see it as "good teevee" and half the half-wits here will grunt in agreement. You made your point, but don't expect anything to change.

I know, right. Putting the mic in dudes face right after he cased the triple was pretty tasteless if you ask me. Let him collect himself. His mechanic or someone should have told her to step off.

I think JS negated any obligatory apology with his equally unpolished response

Good job on the apology and the explination Ralph. It was the right thing to do and the professional thing to do.

I didn't hear/see it, but I heard about it. Congrats, P, you were vindicated too.

I still think the broadcast team is wack, though...

J bone didn't say he was cheating, but he did start the fire. I think erin bates need to owe an apology to bubbas team.

To me it sounds like Jbone was hating, probably because their riders are riding the most expensive bikes and the most tech bike out there. None of that stuff has helped them at all.

a fisherman always can spot another fisherman from a far. so who is cheating hmm they all are.

I miss the days when hannah was doing the track side report. I vote bring hannah back

"bring hannah Back"

P
Exactly.

I was telling my bud right as we were watching it unfold that it was bullshit and they should apologize. At the very least for the phrasing of the question.

It was a total: "Answer yes or no, have you stopped beating your wife?" type of "question" (I use quotations on "question" because for you slow ones, it was a statement under the guise of a question).

I'm surprised they apologized, but they needed to. If we were in Jame's shoes and Erin through that in your face we'd be like.... Fuck off bitch! That was pretty unprofesional what Erin said. Remember when she dropped those big rocks right in front of Barcia? lol She needs to go shake it at Scores.

a public apology on the next race broadcast from whoever approved the
whole "traction control" story. It appears that they failed to do any
real research other than overhearing comments from another team. Their
comments not only tainted the win for James Stewart, but painted him and
his team as well, cheaters. Personally, I feel that they have done great harm to
the reputation of the team and the rider no matter how much
"advertisement" GET got.

If they have the least bit of class they will issue an apology. That's
just MHO.

P

i thought the story made for good drama......it isnt like there is a whole lot for them to talk about!

and do you know for sure it isnt traction control?

I guess the stupid heifer didn't ask herself the obvious question,
" why would the fastest guy on a dirtbike need to cheat?"
I get the feeling they don't like JS very much.
James did right, calling them crazy for bringing that up.
Everyone where I was watching, laughed at the stupidity.

Your Erin comment is way out of line but if that's the way you roll then alrighty then.

"I get the feeling they don't like JS very much" WTF! Have you not watched ANY races the last few years? Ralph Shaheen could be president of the JS7 fan club the way he's fawned over James in the past.

BTW if only people paid as much attention to the lead law issue and other issues affecting our sport as they do this nonsense we'd be way ahead of the game.

Someone has to apologize for asking a question about something they didn't know about?

Say more about your call, if you dare.

Now that I saw a replay of Ralph's scripted apology, I have even more reason to cast aspersions on his weak talents as a broadcaster. After decades of reading prompter and cue cards on camera, THAT green screen quickie was the most sincerity he could muster? It almost read like thinly veiled sarcasm, but that might be giving him too much credit.
