We spent a few days up in Kentucky, touring a few bourbon distilleries. 

Buffalo trace was our first, and best, stop.

Inside the finest bourbons brewed, lies aging in white oak casks...

Long history, dating back to Irish distilleries, of cats brought in to control mice feeding on the grain. 

Added a few choice bottles to the collection...

That is an impressive haul!

If you haven't seen it already, watch The Bourbon King documentary on Netflix. Curious if the tour mentioned it? It's been years since I've been there.

We learned soooo much about the history of bourbon, and E.H.Taylor.

BTW, the maker's mark we were able to hand dip in wax ourselves. She got a kick out of that.

The woodford distillery was impressive as well.

Where buffalo trace is considered an old school method of brewing, woodford is on the cutting edge of bourbon making.

My buddy took tours there last year, and he wants to go back. I need to go.

Imagine what the inventory of just that one rickhouse is worth...
