WTB: Later model AER cartridges

Looking for some later model take offs to update a buddy’s 2017 forks.

I tried this before, they dont transfer without swapping the lugs.

Best upgrade for 17 js run the piston kit from 2018

Also, from 125 thru 450 they have significantly differnt valving setup, ics spring and spacers on the rest of the base valve

Also, I’ll be revalving for his bike anyways. But thanks for the heads up.

Tried it all. Not saying it can't be done. Just not easily

2019 will fit, its the old style and not an upgrade over 2017 with 2018 piston

2021 and later is what you want for the upgraded design.

The single biggest difference is in the pneumatic spring cartridge.  The bypass for the balance chamber was changed significantly for 2021+ models.
The hex foot on the cartridge rods has a length difference of approximately 9mm between 2016.5 - 2020 cartridges and 2021+ cartridges.
Likely, you'll have to mess around with the rebound adjuster rod, on the damping cartridge too.
