Pressure Washer Recommendations

Looking to replace my 3500psi washer with something lighter. Getting to be a PITA pulling it out of the back of my F350. Gas powered suggestions please. I do not own a Alta so no generator available. I do have an on demand pump, so no issues on positive pressure.  What has worked for you?

What does the Vital Brain Trust suggest?    TIA

Stan

Cat pump and ideally a Honda motor if you want it to last the rest of your life.

I guess the question is how many PSI, how much weight you're looking to save, and what your budget is.

This one is 3400 PSI but an aluminum frame.  It may be lighter than what you have now.

Karcher is involved in the sport too.

My Harbor Freight gas engine one is going strong for almost 7 years now. The only issue I have had is one of the bolts for the handle fell out at some point. Other than that, I change the oil twice a year and winterize it when the time comes.

I have a number of different pressure washers (gas, elec, etc).. but wanted something lighter, easy to pack in the trailer, no gas..etc. I bought this Ryobi from HomeDepot - Had low expectations but for $100 was worth the risk.

Since buying it, I havent touched any of my other pressure washers- This thing works great. Its easy to drag around, super light and packs up in to a small tote.  I use it for everything- washing the bikes, cars, boat, sidewalks..etc..

At the track it runs off a small quiet generator. I see a lot of them at the track now..

I put some quick connects fitting / tips.

Bought a spare just in case..

The only thing you need is a "Honda Motor", the rest is just personal choices.

Anyone remember Colin Karcher? Raced a YZ80 in the mid 80's.

Karcher Canada was a personal sponsor for many years, their washers are top notch with the Honda motors.

I highly recommend.

I have a couple of these little Ryobi battery operated units, one for home and one on the RV for race days. It's super nice in that you don't need to plug it in, and your hose just connects directly. It breaks down in half so it doesn't take up much space at all.

It has plenty of pressure for most muddy days, I haven't broken out the gas pressure washer in a long time.

I like my EGO power washer. Easy to use and has an attachment to put a draw hose in a 5 gal bucket or even a pond and use that water to run the power washer. No pressurized water source needed.

I look at Litres or Gallons per minute over pressure.

Ryobi has done me well for many years. Ive always used the 99 dollar 1800 psi version, last one kept going for 3.5 years. Now i bought the next one up, i believe 2200 psi, and its on wheels. i couldnt ask for better unit for the money

Ive had the Karcher cube one for a couple years now and its lasted washing two bikes probably 30 weekends a year.

For the guys looking at electric pressure washers don't spend any more than like $150-$200, it will not have more power all the pressure ratings are bogus using different tips, most of them use one of three different pumps and they are all pretty much maxed out on a 15 amp breaker.

Spend some money on one of the nice flexible hoses and a stubby gun and your ease of use sky rockets.

Anyone with a Honda motor.  My ol' track power washer, from 30 years ago is still running today.  5-6 years ago, I purchased a newer Ryobi (but honda powered) unit for more PSI only.  Treat 'em good and they will run!

These electric little buggers definitely have their place.  It is my preferred option for cleaning the boat.

I use the same one at the track between practice/races. It’s a hell of a conversation starter haha

5-7 gallons seems to be good for one wash

I like mine, the lower pressure with a large orifice wide angle tip means I don't have to be as careful with the wand as you would with a 3500 psi washer.

MI-TM is a good brand, you will always be able to get parts for one down the road.  A belt drive unit is the way to go, they would last the average person forever, but they are not as portable.

Is this for at the track? or at home? I use my gas big one at home (with the low pressure tip). I throw the "dewalt" (knockoff but batteries are the same) 20V unit in the truck for portable needs. I can throw the end of the hose in a pail of water and pressure wash with it. Dont need positive pressure at the inlet. It isn't super high pressure or high flow, but it gets the job done decent enough for me. Doesn't get easier and smaller for transport either. It fits under the back seat of my ram 3500.
