Christian went into surgery this morning to have the metal cage removed from his spine.

He's been doing full work out's 3 days a week with Charles Dao and the rest of the TLD team so he's in pretty good shape.

That being said, he's going to have to go through some therapy in the next few months. Being in pretty good shape should speed up his rehab process quite a bit.

His goal is to be back on the bike Sept 1st. Not sure if that will be the case, but it should be shortly there after.

That's awesome news! I was, like everyone else, really bummed when the accident happened. I was really looking forward to seeing Christian race. I grew up racing at Barona Oaks during the same time that Mike Craig's dad was president of the track ( my mom was the secretary.) I remember Mike being a really nice guy. He was a few years older than me and obviously the local hotshot (him and Tommy Clowers also).

I was always a big fan of his when he turned pro, and the whole family seemed like great people. It always makes me mad to see bad things happen to good people. Hopefully Christian can make a full recovery!

That's good news.

Thanks for the update, I had been wondering how his recovery was going.

That is awesome news! So obviously since he is ggetting back on the bike , they are expecting a 100% recovery? That is the coolest news I have heard in a while! Can't wait to see CC back on a bike!

That's good to hear for sure.

I'm sure he's over it, but that's the athlete/fighter part.

I'm glad to hear he's finally reaching the tail end of all this.

Yo "j100", where you been hiding?

Ring me up sometime!

The fact that Troy made (and KEPT) the commitment to Christian is beyond explanation...

I didn't completely understand what was goin' on when I learned that Christian was on the team, this year.

Pinger explained it to me on the boat-ride to the Catalina GP...I was floored to think that I hadn't even realized that this went beyond "who's the fastest guy we can put on our bike?"

Duh!

Then, on Sunday, there's Troy workin' on some lil' kids bike at Pala...

Class act.

Settle down. It's not that untimely in light of Christian making the A1 main last Saturday night (only to get cleaned out by race winner Hansen) after being unsure of walking again when these posts were fresh. Pretty incredible.
