Seeing Levi in Social Scoop got me thinking FISH. Any one else suffer from this addiction? LOL.
Between the boat, kayak, truck and gear, much time and money is invested into this world. My boys and I fish by inshore/offshore, surf, jetty/inlet, kayak, river banks, bridges, docs, canals etc... In Jersey, striped bass reopened March 1 and I've only got a line wet once (thx to too much automotive side work for friends and family) so far in the '26 season...

Yep, I fish. I fish for salmon from August into December. I’ll post pics once I get a few.
I’m pretty bigs on salmon fishing. So much that, I tie my own jigs, pour my own lead, cure my own bait.

The shelves in the background are containers full of materials for tying jigs. I have 12 different molds.I once thought about starting my own jig company. After taking a week off work, sitting at a table and using a vise for 8 hours for five days, I hated it. I realized after dissecting several jigs from different companies, they were garbage and, tying mine correctly took way more time. I did the math and, I definitely wasn’t going to make a living tying. $27 an hour is what it equaled.
I also realized I didn’t want to become an influencer like so many companies do to get their products out there.
About 7 years ago, I had one of these influencers post a spot I fished. He posted it online while pushing a bait product. He only caught 2 fish over nine hours from what I heard as I wasn’t there. The river became crowded. Very crowded. A few years later, I crossed paths with him on a favorite river of mine. I caught 4 fish before he caught his first. End of the day I caught 9 and my friend caught 5. I just kept throwing fish back to be able to keep fishing as I didn’t want to limit. The guy only got one. I also realized what frauds they were. Editing videos over several days to make it seem like they were just hammering the fish over the course of a day.
Anyways, there’s a little backstory on my addiction.
Here’s some pics.

We are right on Lake Erie, great for smallmouth and walleye. We go to our camp in the mountains for trout.
Awesome! the tug is the drug!!
Fishing many diff environments and conditions I make specific rigs the day before if not throwing artificials.
That’s a beauty…. How much did it weigh?
I tried fishing once? I didn't really have all that much fun tho…I think I was doing it wrong!?
🤔 ❓🤪❗️
The pic in previous post was ACTUALLY from my buddy in this pic, after he cast into a tree along the shore, then snatched it back before it got hung-up! I looked around when I felt what I had THOUGHT was him setting the hook, only to get smashed in the face w/his lure! 🤪
Thankfully, his son (who is a fishin’ crazy former ARMY Medic!) was w/us & he knows EXACTLY how to quickly & painlessly remove an embedded fish hook!
I go out with him & his boys occasionally to their family property in far western Oklahoma, where they & their extended family still have 14 square miles of ranch/farm property w/numerous large ponds they keep stocked w/Bass!
Every time we go…we CATCH and it’s always a fun time! Now I tease my buddy that he is a Oklahoma state record holder, after landing the state record for biggest dork!
😝 👍❗️
Great story!
Fishing in Alaska with Wifey in 6/25. She doesn’t fish much, but always catches the bigger fish!🤣
