Yes tie down on the left, car came on the trailer in one piece, apparently sprint cars don’t handle very well without power steering I learned, had to pull in about ten laps into the main because it was completely unruly, discovered that I’ve never had power steering since after the first day I drove it up at wyvern on the circle track my buddy grant cut in. So when we went to the practice day at Ventura last week it was super hard to handle and I was getting gnarly arm pump, and I thought it was because the track is faster and grippyer, then today I thought it was hard to handle because of the new sticky tires we put on. So I think I’ve been learning to drive with no power steering this whole time 😐 good thing is when we get power steering we’re going to be in business, heat race did not get lapped, got dropped by about half a lap in the ten laps it ran.  🫡 super pumped to get the car sorted out and will be posting videos tomorrow

I did the whole last Altima Enduro without power steering for 100 laps and my arms were fried. They all leak like crazy, so we just topped ours off before the race and it was usually good. Rolling onto the track it never came back, tried rocking the car on the banking to push out any air bubbles when I rolled out and then I got a Power Steering light on the dash. You don’t realize what you have until it’s gone.

Very nice setup. My mother's side of the family all raced sprint cars, super modified, and even hard tops/jalopies in Northern CA. My dad's side was all MX and Enduro.

Anyway, this site has a nice history and tons of pics from Northern California race scene.

I got to ride along with my friend last Saturday night in the push truck starting Sprint Cars, and then got to watch from the bed of a truck in the infield. We had 19 Winged 360s show up, Tyler Clem (Bubba the love sponge’s son) was on a tear and drove to the front. Lucky enough to watch just about any race I want from the infield of this place. Complete different perspective. IMG 9661

Top Gun sprint car series. Mostly South Florida based, ran by a great group of women.

We had the ASCS down here in February for the king of 360s. Great show as always.

Gotcha.  We dont have many 360 series around,,  its mainly 305 stuff anymore.   Of course unless ASCS comes around or HighLimit / WoO 410s.

Years ago we had a class called 'Texas Super Sprinters',  it was a 360 class,  but you had to run an iron head and carburetor.   When that group first began they even ran a flywheel and starter to make restarts go faster when noobs would spin out and throw out a yellow.  I think Louisiana had a bunch doing the same thing called Cajun Sprinters.   Most of those groups have dried up due costs to how much things have gone up.

I think the Outlaws are in Kennedale tomorrow and Saturday.

It’s funny how I was just thinking about the regional series that spawn up around here for various classes, but never seem to stay afloat for very long. Meanwhile Sprint Car racing in Florida on pavement and dirt has been run primarily by two groups for the last two years. Top Gun is the dirt series, and TABARA is the asphalt series, both have been going for 20+ years. It’s seldom that a track in FL promotes their own Sprint Car race.

We have nothing but winged 360s locally here on both surfaces. Only 410 stuff we get is The Outlaws. I was at both High Limit shows in the final year of East Bay and the first feature was one of the best I ever saw there. I’m not sure if anyone has attempted a 305 series here, but I don’t think any track in the state runs them. I’ve heard a lot of the regional 360 guys say they’re more expensive to run than a 410 because they’re squeezing so much power out of a 360 now that they’re service life is basically half of what it was less than 10 years ago.

You can watch the the first race of the High Limit series 2026 season, live on Youtube! The others together with a load of other series you can watch when you pay for Flo Racing. But I ain't doing that because those races are always in the middle of the night in Belgium, it would ruin my sleep even more!

So I got the power steering leak fixed, installed it and set out paper towels on the floor board, and what do you know….i have a new leak

It’s either coming from here or here, clean it and smear some gasket maker in there lightly???

Having it sent off is financially not an option

Should be ok. What's the button on that piece of metal that's going to go through your right knee for?

If this is what your talking about it’s the throttle cable, then the whole thing gets a knee guard

That cable bracket looks homemade like mine was!  🤪

Do you run a heel riser on the stirrup?

BTW,  never saw that style of rear end engage dealio.   I had the old T style you had to pull up and and twist and most guys I know still out there use the lever style  That thing you got looks like it has a gate to lock in so it cant jump out by accident.  Nice.

Love the raceciever device nowadays, but I do miss watching the flagman on the backstretch get pissed off while trying to line cars back up in the running order under caution.

Yikes, thats no good.  I had seen Saturday morning when I logged on that David Gravel had won on Friday,  but never saw about Saturday,  now I know why.    Really really bad luck on that.  😔

It was a tough weekend for the Outlaws with the Kennedale tragedy. The same night, in TN Brandon Overton was leading the WOO Late Model race at Smoky Mountain and with 2 laps to go a lapped car spun at the end of a straight away, the car in front of Overton ducked at the last second and Brandon had no clue he was there and just center punched him. It whacked the car that went around so bad it put all 4 tires in the air. Luckily everyone walked away from that, but it was still pretty scary to watch happen in real time.

Absolute travesty about the gentleman that passed away in Kennedale. From all accounts I’ve read he seemed like a great man.

Fired it up in the neighborhood😂 new wiring done by Nelson fabrications, car is now squared and not in a bind anymore

So, looking at the last rod photo, it may have been cracked for a while, yeah?
