I stayed near the train station in Riga many years ago since I didn`t rent a car. 1,90 Euro only for a one way ticket, now it`s 2,75 EUR so still cheap. Took about 50 minutes from Riga to Kegums and then maybe 30 minutes of walking to the track. The train stops at many small stations, over 10 I think and that was a bit annoying I remember.
A taxi ride from Riga is relatively cheap as well.
Great track for spectating.
As Latvian.i can agree this is good advice,or you can rent a car too, more expensive, but way more comfort you will get, same less then 1 hour drive to Kegums.(depends where is located you hotel in riga)
We stayed in the Holiday Inn next to the train station in Riga. , and rented a car, but now would just get the train, having been there before, great city , really good event, low key compared to Lommel etc, but a great place to visit.
