If Bubba is able to complete the SX season without a DNF, he will be the champ.

You guys may be right, but I will reserve judgement until Saturday night. IMO, RV has the same kind of Raw speed as Stewie, but unfortunately he has suffered through the same type of problems as Stewart (injuries).

Outdoors maybe but indoors no one can touch james. If james can keep it on two hes is going to be hard to beat but saturday nite we will see.

I agree RV is cut from the same mold (almost) these guys need to be like little Fonzie's and be cool! cause Dungey has got there number for the championship anyways he may not win the most races but Dungey is the odds on favorite to win the title AGAIN!

Sorry boys, just like Tiger, The field has caught up to Bubs and he is not going to go out and dominate. His "fastest blah, blah, blah" thingy doesn't impress anyone anymore-they are not intimidated. The guy has hardly raced in two years! In the meantime, Dungey et al have been pounding out motos, training, finding speed, and he has been on the shelf.

A1 will be a reality check for everyone.

Thats what I'm worried about. I like all these guys really. I just don't see Stewart of RV being able to be as consistent as Reed and Dungey. If everyone stays healthy, I think Reed or Dungey will win the championship, but RV and Stewart will have more wins. There is just going to be so much pressure, and Stewart and RV will let it all hang out, thats for sure. The question is, how long can they sustain that speed when they call upon it before riding over the edge and wadding up. I hope I am wrong. I just want to see a fight for the title the whole season.

don't count out probably the most consistant rider out of all of them Chad Reed if you go by stats chad has everyone covered when it comes to consistancy

Kong, I don't-it is an opinion just like everyone else around here. My opinion is based on JS not having raced in, well, forever, and everyone else getting better and gaining speed. I truly don't believe he is going to come in and dominate this field. Too many guys going too fast and believing in themselves. Bubba had the field covered before the gate dropped two years ago and I don't think he does now. I don't think the field believes he is invincible any more. Its bench racing, nothing more. I love to watch the guy ride and if he can go out and put the wood to this field, then I will start a new thread calling him the fastest guy on the planet once more.....I don't think ANYONE can go out and dominate this field, providing everyone stays healthy.

Hell, no one has even mentioned K-Dub among the top dudes in this class and I think this is a mistake too.

I got James for winning Anaheim. I don't think there is anyone as hungry as Stewart right now.

K-dub is the best MX/SX racer to watch his STYLE and ABILTY to ride effortlessly is unmatched by any rider of any era. He is a true freak of nature but i don't see him really showing a wheel to the big 4 trust me i would luv to see it. I think that everyone has forgotten how fast James really is because of the 2 yrs away. I look at it from the other side where James's speed and freakish abilty to jump combo's that people dont even look at and his skill on staying the lowest over jumps seems to be forgotten because we havn't seen him race for 2 yrs where you see it fom the other side that the 2yrs away from racing the others have caught up , and this is called bench racing and i live it and luv and your opinions are valued by me. lets bring on A1 and may the best man win

More like gut check for James. If he has the "fire" in his belly and some real focus I think he can still spank any of these guys.

I can see James winning A1. Yamaha has made sure thru testing that there are no excuses. James has made sure his fitness is where it needs to be and he is hungry to prove his "fastest man on the planet" moniker. I think RV will just cruise and get himself smoothed out the first few races but will eventually race with James each weekend. I see RD being smooth and fast and dicing with Canard and Reed but being a little ahead of those two. Looking forward to a great A1 and hopefully injury free season!............well,a guy can hope can't he?Cool Go Canard!

Kong-I agree-its all good. I can't wait until we see where everyone is REALLY at with their programs. I totally see the other side of this JS argument-when he is on, especially indoors, I don't think anyone has ridden a scooter faster, but we all know there is more to it then that. I just happen to believe the statement that "the only true constant in life is change" and two years in this sport is equal to 7 dog years.

Assuming RV has totally committed to Aldon's program, I think he is a huge threat this year.

We can re-visit this debate starting this Saturday night, for the next 17 races! Bring it!

And I will confess up front that I am personally pulling for Dungey and Reed, for very separate reasons, but will certainly give it up to whoever can inch their way ahead with this level of talent on the gate. I've got no hate for anyone. They are all total studs on a scooter.

I was talking about this last week and I think that if James can be a straight away faster in speed he won't have to deal with the other guys. If he is going to win this he has to do it MC style.

He James gets in dog fights on a weekly basis it is going to be very tough to take on RV and Dungey.

Given that RC put Dungey as the favorite on national TV, I'd like to see the full context of the quote and what is between the ellipsis.

I agree totally with this... James always seems to have some difficulty when seriously challenged for more than a short burst... of course the guy that usually did that to him was the toughest minded sucker to ever race!

The statement contradicts what RC said on national TV! Either RC is saying contradictory statements (in one breath saying that Dungey is the favorite and in the next breath saying Stewart is the favorite) or there is more to the context of RC's statement. I heard RC's full statement on national TV; he said that he picks Dungey as the favorite. This quote stands alone and there are ellipsis (the .... between statements) so we don't know the full context of the statement. I am not being unfair here so stop attacking me and stick to the subject.

I interpret what RC said in this thread and what he said on the pre-show to be consistent, but you gotta read between the lines. James should win, but he doesn't think he'll keep it on two wheels and that makes Dungey the favorite for the title.

That's how I read it.

Funny how MC or RC dominated for years, yet James can't do it for 2, He is faster than both....

Look at the field,
RC and MC had to beat only a few fast guys to win, now, there's many more potential winners. Really if ya think about in comparison to now, RC had easier comp.
