I have only ridden there about 4 times. The track was prepped ok. I was running 756's F/R and they seemed to work well. I want to try a 745 front around here. I have heard good things about it. Also a friend of mine that is always testing for his company runs Pirelli Scorpion Pro and swears by them. He has a number of guys using them that he supports.

Thumbs up for the 756.

Don't forget to include a dust mask because there ain't much water on that track these days unless it rains.

Thanks guys I went with the 756 rear and a big fat Bridgeston 202 90/100 on the front. Never used a fat front

This is the report from a friend that went there today...

"dusty, almost zero prep, rough as fuck, not too crowded.
water truck broke about 11am.
that track could be so damn good if they would spend some time on it...it's crazy how little effort they put into the prep."

We were there today. This is true. That little up hill was wickedly rough!

Motocross, love it.

Cahuilla has been pretty dry most days. But the layout has been really good. They just choose not to prep or water that place. They've been told by many riders to water better, but the owner doesn't care. I hope it's good for the VetX race tomorrow though. But if the water truck is broke, who knows.

The guy that owns that place is a blowhard. People have been complaining about that since day 1. I'm convinced that's why they cut off 1/3 of the track a few years back. LAZY

Sounds like a real track. What is everybody complaining about? This isnt supposed to be a SX track is it?

I'm sure its fine if you live close, but when you live 100 miles from there it kinda sucks to drive all that way to find a dust bowl of a track with hardly any prep.

It sure is a haul from here gotta agree with you mxjef. If there is traffic it makes you question life.
I thought it was on Indian land? I thought the owners were the Cahuilla band of indians?

I used to enjoy riding there and one of my buddies makes the stickers for them he knows them pretty well and said the owner preferrs not water very much if at all during the summer and that place absolutely SUCKS during the summer......funny this came up because I was out riding with my buddies at the wind tunnel called competitive edge and it was shitty too.... Both Comp edge and cahuilla track are great when they are taken care of but it's so hit and miss Im tired of driving from HB only to show up and get a roll of the dice 50/50 chance they actually did something with the track and all socal tracks are guilty of this at one time or another its a major letdown with gas reaching 4 bucks a gallon to show up and find a non prepped track ..... Im not asking for a sx prep but since im paying them what like 25 bucks to ride their track I should at least get something worth paying for, good thing comp edge is only $15 now because it was barely worth that

From a friend that went to the Vet-X race out there today...

"The WORST I have ever seen that track. It was terrible. They ran out of water by the 4th moto of the first round, and huge holes were forming already in practice. Very bad. 330 people that probably won't go back there."

This is from someone that goes there a lot.

It sad that they are treated like that but the profit margin on a track has to be not very much. With all the land costs, especially in Southern California, the insurance, the cost of equipement to maintain the track etc. it is probably a very low margin. Both tracks are great when prepped. Not a good sign.

Cahuilla has been getting progressively worse with prep and water each passing week since winter. I love that place when it is good. When it's bad it can still be fun though. As long as you're not following someone. Too bad for the Vet-X racers today. That sucks. Vet-X will probably just pull their races from there.

the last time I rode ccmx was during a vet x race a few years back. It was in June and they didnt water at all! I used to like that track but I can't justify driving from Huntington to ride a dusty ragged mess.

Another quote from someone there today....

"After a dust bowl on Saturday I asked that knucklehead Danny right in front of Davis if there was going to be enough water so that we can race safely with vision and he lied right to both of us stating that he was preserving water on Saturday so he would have more for the race tomorrow.

I don't care about the rough track but blasting 5th gear through blind dust out sections is just insane!

My first race #2 the track wasn't too bad but for my 2nd race- race 9 every straight away was a gamble with no vision dust clouds and square edges waiting for a mistake.

I elected to DNS race 9 2nd moto just cause it wasn't safe.

fuck that track "
