Can you please show us Android users some love and create a mobile app for us? The iPhone isn't the only smart phone on the market and also if possible keep the mobile site concurrent with the regular site .... a lot of times stuff will be on the normal site but not on the. Mobile site .... new site looks good thanks for updating it Smile

Looks good. The only thing I noticed was that my name was not listed as a contributor to the website and magazine.

I'm sure it will show up when you launch the new site though.

The mobile Racer X Online will be very comprehensive. Anything you can do or see on the full site, you'll be able to do on the mobile site. We hope to open beta on it by tomorrow, but it may be early next week.

I like the new site. Took a minute to let go of the old one I was so used to. The new layout is much better, quicker to nav and easier use, IMO.

As far as mobile use is concerned, some of us will never be AT&T customers no matter how awesome the iphone is. Show some love for the windows mobile and droid folks please.

GuyB -- yeah, I surprised myself a bit!

Guys, the new site should work well on Android and other phones as well. If something doesn't work well at first, we'll work it until it does. We look at this new site as a beginning, not an end.

The mobile site will update at the same time the desktop site does -- there will be no difference, lag time, etc.

As for the site being slow, hopefully that was just an initial caching thing. Our new home page is about half the weight of the old one, it's much more efficiently designed, and feedback has overwhelmingly shown faster load times for people. Hopefully that straightens out for you, Jman277. In the meantime, can you go here:

I do like the layout a little more vs. the current/old one.
However, I have a huge complaint with the banners.
I know advertisers pay the bills but the banners lock up the sight when you try to open them on a computer that wasnt bought a month ago. The same issue on this sight with all the flash adds. I find myeelf going on other sights such as this and following links to articles that may be on your website. So the big flash style adds actually cause less traffic to the site and cause me to go on and see the adds less often. It seems that everyone that builds sites has to upgrade their computers to keep these sites up and running but loose sight of that fact that all the Joe Smo's like me put money into our bikes and not computers so its getting harder and harder to check the news and such on sites such as yours.

There thats my bit. I'm sure Ill hear crack for it.

Done. I will keep checking back to see if it improves, does look good though. I just didnt want it to turn into another system bogging twmx.com site.

Thanks, Jman277, got it. You're running an old version of Explorer. If you upgrade from 7 to 8 (or even 9 when it comes out soon), you should have a better experience. Feel free to give that a shot, and if you do, let me know if you notice a difference. Thanks for the feedback!

The new layout looks good.
Sticking with Web2.0/RSS is the way to go.

Coming from a guy who has felt the pain of website redesign, congrats on all the work you've put in. I don't mind the current site, but I like the new one better.

If it helps, my favorite site is Engadget. It has tons of info and I visit it more often than any other site because the info is still presented in a blog/newest first presentation.

Here's a quick spy photo of the new Racer X Online mobile site on a Droid. Should be open in beta on Monday. http://yfrog.com/h4je6kj

What have your experiences with video been on the beta site, guys?

http://beta.racerxonline.com

Anybody experiencing choppiness, poor image quality, etc.? Have you tried on mobile devices, and if so, how has it worked?

I hope this doesn't come across as too smammy -- we just really want feedback so we can get this stuff right. Happy holidays to everyone!
