That "Dr's talking about not helping people because of politics" is a Florida law passed by a Republican governor.  He was talking about how that law would make it legal for him to decide not to treat somebody.

Don't be mad at the Left only. Everybodies done it at some point.  There are republicans that are out there and mad too. There are a few republican lawmakers that have spoke out against it. Even Trump saw that things were not going the way he wanted and is changing things. This most recent thing is one of the least partisan examples of protests  that have a little bad stuff going on alongside them.

There are people celebrating and making jokes about the protesters that have been shot too, People will joke about anything if You look hard enough, there are some sick people out there.

There are people that have been pardoned by Trump out assaulting law enforcement and committing other crimes too.    The source of how You find out about stuff seems to be a bit lopsided . This may current situation may have more people that lean left involved. But its just the most recent example of civil unrest. When people are unhappy that's what happens. Left,Right, independant.  It's been going on forever and has been a catalyst for changes.

I did not agree with the people who stormed the Capital, but I will say that from the start I tried to get into the thought process of why.  I was happy to see that there were people who would stand up if they thought the election was stolen. I blame the people who lied to them for getting them fired up. But I put myself into their thought process as much as I could and tried to understand why they would do what they did. I wish more people would try and see things from other perspectives and stop hating other people before they even get to know them.

I came here  and engaged with people on political stuff  with the thought that we are all people, and that we all do things for different reasons based on the same basic things. I came here to try and help people see that the other side is made up of people that are more like them than they are not.

Even in this thread with all of the back and forth , most of us are really in agreement at the basic levels .  Its the details that everybody is arguing about. But overall everybody wants Law enforcement that they can trust, and wants violent criminals' held accountable .  I think its pretty clear that everybody agrees there is a problem with the way things are going with Immigration enforcement right now. There are bad actors in ICE and in the protesters. If we only focus on one part of the bad and not fix it all, it will not be fixed and things will continue to escalate. Get a handle on the protesters that are doing bad stuff, and stop ICE and DHS from doing the bad stuff they are doing and the protest will dry up and there will not be enough people legally and peacefully protesting for the people that are throwing and assaulting to be able to have a cover and they will all be arrested or go away.

I don't think that the majority of the people doing the bad stuff really believe in the cause and they would be out there rioting no matter what the protests were about. I've seen Youtube videos of people that used the cover of protests to go do dumb stuff. That's a minority though, and its not a Right or left thing. It's a people thing.

I'm honestly curious , what are Your first hand experience's with illegal immigrants that make You so fired up?

My own personal experiences with some immigrants. I'm unsure of all of their legal status so they may be legal or not. But all of them have been some of  the most respectful and hard working people I've met.

One of my first jobs was working for a plasterer , and  there were some very talented people and one of the nicest workers was the guy who hardly spoke any English. Th US born bro's would haze me as a 14 year old laborer. I was taller than most adults at the time so most thought I was much older.

I worked at a box factory with my Dad. I was one of a handful of people who spoke English as their first language .  I was the only white person that wasn't in some sort of management position as I was 17 and fresh out of high school. There were many Spanish speaking people and they were all friendly and hard workers. These were all legal, as there were visits by ICE and those agents were all friendly and cool. And doing jobs that other American's did not want to do

Then I went back to construction and a more relaxed hiring process that may have allowed some less than legal immigrant's to be hired. And the same thing, Hard working, VERY respectful, doing jobs that others couldn't or did not want to do. Some very skilled tree workers and framers

My personal experiences are coming from growing up in a well off area. More US presidents have been born in the county I grew up in  than ANY other. 3 of them.  In all of those jobs I knew the people in management, and they all said that it was harder to get US born people to work doing the jobs that they were hiring for.  In school we were told that we would be stuck working a dead-end factory or construction job if we didn't go to collage.

I didn't fall for that BS, that is what helped make manufacturing leave the US. The factory I worked at with my dad sold after 3 generations owning it. Now only the name lives on and they import the packages from China for the most part. The boxes were Tiffany, Helzberg Diamonds, and stuff for FBI, Secret Service , Etc badges. Boxes that were bought by the thousand, some costing $30 or more each . They started importing more and more as it became harder and harder to find Factory workers and easier to outsource and sell based off the name.

I can see why you didn't want to go to collage. There's just too many pictures in that statement to wrap my head around. 🤣

Yah I got board with school and was unsure of what I wanted to do. I did not want to waste money finding out what I wanted to do. . I worked doing those jobs while I figured things out a little. Started working part time when I was 14, full time at 16 when I graduated . I've always done odd jobs on the side before owning my own business.  The internet came along  and now I learn new things for fun online and via first hand experiences.I love the process of learning so much that I still try and learn something new everyday.

I hate that AI is turning the at one time great tool for info and learning into a cesspool of BS. Even Google's search results are impacted by fake stuff that people interact with enough and now it takes a lot more effort to make sure inof is good.

If  You really want to know why.

I appreciate you rationally communicating your side but, why do you continue to bring up the Capitol? You realize the FBI admitted to 449 agents in MAGA gear they put in that crowd (not to mention others)and they clearly herded them into the center (while still peaceful) and opened  up on them. And it was 6 years ago.

Are you able to provide something for me to read up on this? I haven't seen any credible sources confirming what you are claiming as truth here.

I have seen Kash Patel make unsubstantiated claims similar to this, is this where you heard it?

I am genuinely interested as if it is legitimate I'd like to be aware.

EDIT - Or are you trying to prove how easily manipulated MAGA people in particular are? Lions not sheep! Joking aside, hopefully at some point we all come together and collectively stop putting up with this shit, regardless which corner of our corrupt government it's coming from.

I'm trying to show how alike people are by using examples of similar actions they have taken when they are upset.

I bring it up because its an example of a protest with violence against police that was explained away by the people who are  saying there is never any excuse for assaulting Law Enforcement, except Jan 6th because that doesn't count.

People still assaulted police no matter how many undercover  agents or officers were in there. They still broke into the capital and broke down the doors. A protester was killed. And yet it was all different because it was people on the right.

That number includes agents that were dispatched after the riot started too to be fair. And I bet that its a normal thing for there to be undercover in any large event in Washington. They monitor phone calls on everybody within a certain distance of the President . It's a very high security area.  Can you tell me that there has not been an equal number of agents in other protests that did not turn violent?

And the level of violence against law enforcement is unequaled in any other SINGLE day protest  turned riot  that I have knowledge of.

I do not see ANYBODY in this thread claiming that violence is OK against Law Enforcement  in the case of the ICE protests.

I heard Chris Cuomo say they'll have a difficult time prosecuting, "he's a journalist". No, now he's no different than any run of the mill "citizen journalist" but, if you take that position that he was there as a "journalist" the moment he started to lecture the minister (or whatever is the correct term for that church) he inserted himself into the action from reporting on the action.

Where I grew up?  Norfolk County in Ma.  Its made up of a bunch of well off towns I was in one of the smaller less well off towns, but still well off compared to a lot of places. John Adams, John Quincy Adams, John F. Kennedy, and George H. W. Bush were all born there.

The Factory I worked at was Mason Box it was in North attleboro MA when I worked there. Here is a screen shot of the current website , I have no idea what they do now as far as packaging but that was their logo back when I was there. image 2556.png?VersionId=qDc6F22cGWfM

I am unsure of why they got the government contracts . It could be they were around so long and did everything from start to finish right there. Before I started they used to make their own stamps for the machines too . They still had a full machine shop with 3 full time machinists that built a lot of the parts for the machines.  My Dad took home a ton of brass when they stopped doing that stuff. At the time they tossed it all in the dumpster except for the government stuff. That had to be destroyed.  My Dad and brother scrapped a lot of it and my dad kept some of the more interesting stuff. I have some of it he left to me when he passed away.

My Dad was in Washington in the Army during Vietnam and he told me stories of his experiences in Washington . He got lucky and fit the physical and mental requirements to be stationed in Washington DC instead of going to fight in the war.  His official duty was patrolling DC . He said they drove tanks and deuce and a halfs around DC and wore their dress uniforms often.

I am going to try and use some self control and spend less time here for a while. I have some orders to finish up and My mom may be coming down with a UTI  , with her Alzheimers it can make things really confusing for her.  I'll probably try and get on here at night if shes sleeping well.

You are one of the seemingly VERY few that is interested in peace for the sake of peace .  It is refreshing to see some of Your posts. And kinda depressing to see how little attention that March is getting that You posted about. But at least its avoiding big amounts of negative attention .

All of that is totally reasonable and there should be consequences for attacking cops. I won't defend what happened J6 but I will say Pelosi got exactly what she wanted.

I see, my spellcheck and not having time to proofread  all my posts .  helped me make that one. Didn't notice I spelt College collage.  Didn't go over my head, I just missed the spelling mistake.

I have some great memories of making collages with my mom as a kid.  She developed the photos and then we cut them out and glued and coated them onto wood.

 Sorry for being so serious.

Chris Cuomo is another cheek of the same arse.

You could say that Trump also got  some of what he wanted too.

Its probably good that they were not there to fight a fight with the people Trump sent to march to the capital or things may have ended with more deaths and injuries. I hope we never get to find out what would happen if there were troops there and a similar thing happens.

I'm glad it didn't turn into the bloodbath that it could have.

Remember that there WERE rallies already scheduled to be there and permits were issued. They weren't a crazy mob that left home to go cause trouble and riot, they were supposed to be there. Things went really sideways after they were attacked with flash bangs, riot grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas. It still doesn't justify what happened but, those magnetic doors only open from the security office.

Yes, sure seems like they were set up by their wonderful leader eh?

Trump has stated many times he loves uneducated folks, easier to manipulate and get them to do his dirty work (see surge of new ICE hires for reference)

EDIT - Meanwhile Trump, a pretty dumb dude himself, is getting manipulated by a ton of bad actors in his circle who are looking to further their own fucked up initiatives.

Things went/started going  sideways when they left the permited location and marched to the capital.  They broke in through windows and broke down doors.  They were crushing people against inner doors as more and more people poured in.

Many happened to have bear spray, pepper spray  and gas masks .  Trump promissed them that it would be wild, wound them up and told them to head to the capital and he would be following them.

Trump then went back to the whitehouse watched on tv live for hours ,ignoring calls by lawmakers that were begging for him to send help. While lawmakers were hiding in the capital building. Reportedly enjoying the crazyness.

Could they have been comiting the horrible crime of filming capital police and thats why they were sprayed? Or maybe some yelled mean words or made loud sounds that distracted them from doing their job?  Was that when they started with the pepper spray?

Maybe they were not following orders given to them by capital police?

Perhaps the majority of people who went to the Trump  rallies did not intend on being invovled in a riot when they left home. But if all it takes is a shot of pepperspray to go from peaceful rally goer to braking into the capital and chanting about killing the VP,  that seems like a bit of an extreme reaction. Right?

Bad day it was and it got people killed. But that one day was just that, and these couple weeks, many years later are completely different. The left had time to calm down and reflect, but NO, they are just getting started! The Feds are not the only target; the officers' families are being targeted. Journalists are being targeted. Restaurants and businesses are being targeted. And now neighbors and voters are being targeted and threatened that have nothing to do with Ice or immigration law. When lefties start talking about making lists, and making plans for revenge, shit is going to get real. Democrats have started 100 riots to the Republicans 1.

Sorry but threats and targeting people for revenge are things as old as the earth and are a people thing not partisan or limited to politics.

My mother was doing a talk show in the 80s and 90s and had many death threats. From people on the right and left.

There are lots of trump supporters that have made threats to Marjorie Taylor Greene look up her talking about it.  Its not just her that gets the threats.

If you look for it yourself you can find other examples if you want. I can see that your just doing the thing were you try and claim moral high ground and want the other side to be responsible for everything wrong in the world. A lot of People  in general  think similarly.

I give examples of right related things not as an argument that there are people on the left  are not doing similar things, but because You are already seemingly aware of those.

These recent issues with ICE have people from both the left and the right mad about it. Just like many other protests. Its more of a Trump supporter vs non trump supporter issue than a straight up left vs right.. With people who may have voted republican but they are not part of the 30%  that Trump can do no wrong for.

The Jan 6th riot isn't the only example of a protest with violence from the right. Its just one of  the most well known that is denied as being violent by a lot of people on the right.

Like I keep saying. I'm gonna  stay away from here more . It has nothing to do with anybody on here. Its just the lack of time on my part and I want to spend my time more wisely. I haven't been to successful at staying away yet. But at some point i will.
