Good evening fellas,

It’s time for me to purchase a new vehicle. I’m looking seriously at one of the Hybrid F150’s. Everything I read about them impresses me. Do any of you own one? What are your thoughts?

A little about my driving:

-High miles. 60k a year for work.
-Need to be able to tow. 6,000lb toy hauler.
-Preferably seating for 6. (302A with 40/20/40 split)

The only thing holding me back is the reliability of potential issues with the electric system. My last few trucks have been 3.5’s and I love the platform.

They're fine. Reliability-wise no better or worse than the gas version. I don't think I'd want to hold on to one for too long, that's more of an aging over time thing than a mileage thing. If most of your driving is on the highway you'll likely get slightly worse mileage than the regular Ecoboost, that's been the experience of a couple of my co-workers, anyway. The guy who lives in town does way better of course, better than his previous diesel F-150. 6K towing isn't much for most trucks, technically you could do that with a Ranger or Tacoma although I'd stick with the 1/2-ton for that and move on to a 3/4 or 1 ton above 8K. 60,000 a year is racking it up in a hurry but it'll be okay.

I have one as a company vehicle. Mine is a 2024 and it has been great so far. I also drive 50k+ miles a year for work and tow a boat behind it (boat sales guy here) and it actually tows WAY better than I thought it would. My previous company truck was a Ram 1500 with the 5.7 V8 and I honestly think the Ford tows way better. Maybe because of the 10 speed transmission, who knows. It's also nice when I'm on the highway not towing as it gets around 25MPG pretty consistently. The engine packs a pretty good punch when not towing, too.

I have always personally owned Chevy's, but if I had to buy a new truck for personal use, I would more than likely buy another PowerBoost F150. I've been really impressed with it!

I have one. This is my second one and I really enjoy it. My first one, I was getting in the low 20s mph wise on the highway with bigger tires on it.
My new one hasn’t broke in yet, so I am getting 17.5 on average with stock tires and wheels.
The only thing I’ve noticed is when I tow my enclosed trailer with it, the mileage tanks. My tool trailer, I get maybe 8 mpg with it, but it is relatively heavy.

I’ve got a 2023 that I bought  for a song in spring of 2024. XLT High/FX4/Trailer Pkg (15,000) and ProPower…use it for a chase vehicle/dez races & a bit of daily driving/long commutes. I needed a truck that be able to tow an TT truck when required and provide pit power including a welder…and it does ALL of that. I call it a Cloth Lariat. 🤓

I’ve used it for hyper-commutes and it’s capable of mileage that will piss off Tacoma owners.

No dependability issues as I approach 50K miles…which means it’s 25K+ miles/year. Its lifetime mlg is 23.5 mpg. It’s still completely stock all the way down to the Michelins…which is impressive…and brakes will last FOREVER if you know how to use regen and maximize the hybrid use…even when towing.

My driving is split between this truck, a Transit van, a Bronco and random occasional other Ford vehicles. The drive quality, range, features and capability of this truck sets it apart from most. It’s part Super Duty & part Prius…which is hilarious. Ever driven OVER 700 miles in an ICE vehicle without stopping for gas? 🤣

Ever charge a stranded Tesla with your Pick Up Truck? 😎

I want a Hybrid Raptor!
