So Denmark is worthy of keeping control of Greenland?

Its like people have never heard of trolling before. They'll end up making a deal with Greenland. He's pressuring hard now, that way the deal for the treaty seems like not that big of a deal when he calms it back down. Either way there's something else they aren't telling us because why bother going after Greenland all of a sudden? We've tried to purchase it multiple times in the past. Each time they refuse.

Gee, what a logical way to approach things. That will really build trust with your partners and make them believe you'll be a dependable partner. It won't turn them away at all and send them looking for more predictable countries to work with.

He did a great job trolling the Iranians. You think that was good to do?

I do think controlling more of the globe is good for America. I’d just like our government find a way to do it without making us look like Dony dickhead assholes.
Without NATO we can’t control Greenland anyway

A little off subject but Don Jr. is on the board of a US based drone supplier .   DJI drones and everything DJI was banned (  cameras, mics power systems) along with a lot of drone parts. The law  makes it illegal to import DJI,Autel and others and restricts government agencies' from using DJI and Autel ,  the regular hobby pilot or business that is non government can still use any product that is already approved and in the US.  There is no real US option right now so the local Fire depts and police that have been using DJI drones to help search for people or find fires or whatever are now unable to use DJI or Autel drones.     After the supply of DJI stuff that was brought into the US dries up there will not be any options for hobby or non Government business until a US built option is available or the law is revised.

So the company Don Jr. is a part of stands to benefit greatly from this.

A lot of people agree that there should be laws related to politicians stocks and trading. That would be a great place to start cleaning up politics.

I don't think  that making a threat as a negotiating tactic is an acceptable way of negotiating . Its more mafia than legit business.

It voids most basic contracts for stuff. Why should it be an acceptable way of negotiating the transfer of a country? If it is an empty threat than why say it. If the people that live in Greenland do not want to become a part of the US why push it?  The recent Hands off Greenland protests had an estimated 5000 people show up to the protest in the capital city. That is roughly 8.86% of the population. It would be like a single protest in the US with over 31 Million people showing up at a single location.  Think about how many people that is.

Nami's value to Arlong was her ability to map the oceans. He didn't give a shit about her berries.

So trump doesn't care about the people of greenland , just its value for whatever the true reason is for him wanting it?

How is that OK with you?  Unless I don't understand.

If that is what Your saying, that is getting very dictator like right?

I get it that he's doing things You like now.  For me, take any past president and replace them with Trump and I would have the same concerns. I don't really have a favorite. I have something critical to say about   all of them at some level . But for me it would worry me that at some point they would start to do things I did not agree with and the precedent would already be set by the earlier activities being allowed.  If Greenland becomes a part of the US and the people do not want it to be. I would worry that they would ignore the will of the people in otherways.  Changing the law to allow them to stay in power, ignore election results they do not like, Etc. Yes those things are a jump , but it feels crazy that the US would take over a country against the will of its people , that is the least American thing I can think of.

Or maybe its the most American thing depending on how You look at it right?

It just feels like it goes against what the US has said its for.

Your post (that I responded to) was about a Chinese company that sends drones to the US and records everything they see. Then sends the data back to China.

At this point its a little late honestly.  I got my first DJI drone over 15 years ago.  I had those concerns back then, it was one of my first thoughts, I remember talking to a friend while we were both flying our Phantoms. Saying how its crazy they can sell that tech so cheaply and that its probably a Chinese spy operation paid for by China. He laughed at me back then.  By now they have already been used for inspections of powerline's, dams, etc. for years  there is likely so much footage already taken that its a little late. DJI has as much as 90% of the drone market depending on which segment. And its been that way for a while. They have had 4K or better cameras for 15 plus years. Construction companies have been using them for surveying and mapping out construction projects for more than 10 years.

The time to do something was 10 or 15   years ago. At this point if that's what they are doing they have so much high quality footage.  They did just come out with their first 360 camera , that opens up another level of spying since they film everything in every direction. But they are still selling the stock that is available in the US. and private citizens can still use their DJI products .

I can totally understand not allowing US federal and local government use of DJI or any foreign made drone.

And I think it should have always been that way even though they have done a lot of good. Just stopping the importing of more of them is not stopping any spying that's being done with them. At this point its like going back and Impeaching Bush for going into Iraq, its not gonna change a lot.

Either your typing incorrectly or pushing bad info. Also, I'm more concerned with politicians that become billionairs vs billionairs that become politicians.

I guess maybe you are trying to make some kind of point about the US having some kind of moral superiority against Greenland?
Cuz if that’s your intent, perhaps look back to history.

In August?!?! Are you fucking kidding?! This makes up for mass sterilizations?!?!?

Everyone did it don't make it right.

Greenland will be out next state and we will welcome those people..

But the US will make it right by taking over🤣🤣

Who said anything about an apology making up for a horrible policy.

Your faux outrage is hilarious.
Maybe you can go volunteer and work with the indigenous people in Greenland.

What a feeble reply. You should pitch it to the Don Don, I could see him using that as his next justification to take over the country.

Awesome, he said he won't do the crazy thing he was talking about doing.  I hope he doesn't change his mind. I don't think that it was overreacting by people who spoke out against it. If not for all the pushback I doubt he would have stopped saying that military force was an option .

To the people who said it never was an option and he was just saying it.  Did you see the trouble that even just talking about it caused?  Its not good when even hardcore supporters of him say not to take what he says seriously.  Might be a great quality in a comedian , but not in a leader of a country.  Glad this thread is going to die off now. I hope that cooler heads continue to prevail.

I think I've read several posts from professional125 about forced sterilization of his ancestors.

Timing seems rather odd doesn't it? US wants control of Greenland and all of a sudden Denmark starts doing what it can to appease the population of Greenland? Really, trying to buy support from the people by giving $40,000 to women that it happened to?

I mean, they could just do what the US does when it wrecks countries and populations lives and say fuck em.

You’re really reaching here, it’s comical to say the least.
Let’s concede TM, the US deserves Greenland because Denmark is a bad actor😂🤦‍♂️

Dude, listen to yourself🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Never said we deserve Greenland. But I do believe Greenland should be free to choose their own fate independently of Denmark. And talking about it for a long time and doing something are 2 entirely different things. If talking was all it took, there have been talk for decades for reparations here. I guarantee you, it will be talk till whoever is in control sees it as a self serving act.

When did you start having try see feelings for your precious Greenland?

That investigation found that Denmark — from 1966 through 1992 — forced sterilization on more than 4,500 women and girls in Greenland, some as young as 12 years old. Many, if not most, were never told. "

Denmark finally issued a formal apology in August and are initiating a compensation program.

I guess maybe you are trying to make some kind of point about the US having some kind of moral superiority against Greenland?
Cuz if that’s your intent, perhaps look back to history.
