Every year is Supercross the field starts out packed and by the last few races many of the top contenders are on the sideline mending bones -

If the solution were easy I think the AMA and promoters would implement change. The top guys are super competitive and willing to push the edge to win <-- as long as the guys are willing to push the laws of physics it won't matter what they do to "TRY" to make the tracks safter

2026 got an early start with Barcia and  Stewart.. I'm gutted for Mookie after the pre-season he had! Many of us were thinking the dude was going to win a few rounds this year.

Prayers for Justn Barcia to make a full recovery

Supercross is the packaging up of the most dangerous aspects of motocross and introducing them into a confined space. It’s high shock value entertainment and it’s monetary value is tied to the potential of catastrophic injuries. That’s what keeps people engaged and why most people come.

The intent of supercross has always been to draw people in using the element of danger, but between the evolution of the bikes, the tracks, and the stakes (amount of money riders stand to gain), it’s become less and less a showcase of skill and technique, and more just a last man standing type of event. With the element of chance playing a larger role than ever before I find myself less interested each year.

Ok, glass half empty then ..

I've never known anyone who attends or watches SX in the hopes of witnessing someone getting hurt.
Certainly agree that current track designs often create needlessly dangerous situations, a bit slower tracks that don't allow for such degrees of momentum to occur would likely produce less injuries.

Pretty sure that we all witnessed plenty of skill & technique as Eli & Kenny finished almost half a minute ahead of the rest of the field.
