The slow build and finishing all the races last year was a smart methodical strategy in order to be towards the front of the class this year. How does moving into a STACKED 450 class and getting 15th benefit anybody? It doesnt really benefit triumph and it doesnt benefit austin. When ricky talked about why he wanted austin to move up it made absolutely no sense. Hopefully he can get through this healthy and go back to 250 east.

I'm not reading all of that, but I think he did well all things considered. Made the main, brought it home in one piece and is on to the next round healthy

From what i've read he is going back to 250 when they go east. With jordon smith injured they wanted a 450 out there.

Triumph needed a bike on the track, he was the best option.

I don't think anyone (except maybe pops) expected too much out of him, but he made the main. Got caught up in that first lap crash, but his results probably wouldn't have been much different either way. He made it through and finished the race healthy.

Hopefully being on the 450 for a few races will give him more confidence when he goes back to the 250 series out east.

And that was fine for last year... but he's always had sexton like speed.... and now he's settling for just making the mains?? He's triumphs 450 factory rider and you think they happy just making the mains?? Sucks to see him go from elite to racing for 17th... which is what he would have gotten last night if not for the barcia mookie crash....

He could have also decided to take it easy last night after seeing the Barcia crash. Kind of similar fall to the one he had when he landed on his back

He has limited time on the 450 plus Triumph is debuting the bike in the 450 class.  I’m sure making the main was a win for them.

I think Forkner rode really well

100%

Smart ride for him. Get the bike out there, qualify for the main and ride the race. Stay healthy for 250 east.
