Yeah, I like to kick it old school, lol. Although I could have saved more money and just throw rocks at my prey, and that would be just as effective, if not more so. I might actually hit something that way. Funny story - a few nights ago I happened to look out my front door at midnight and saw a dove just sitting on my porch. I thought about getting my blowgun and sneaking out the side door to stalk him and log my first kill. My humane side won out and I let him sleep on my porch. At about 3 a.m. I woke up to some very odd sounds on my front porch. Looked out, and there was a cat and a pile of feathers. I would have done that dove a favor with a swift and relatively painless kill. I was amazed at how proficient cats are at plucking birds, though.

No it's not, this isn't the Omela's and your very typical response is just an excuse for greed and being a shit excuse for a human. That's about the only immutable truth in this discussion.

The best place to serve is right here, from our wealth, and we are all responsible to that end. Note (again) that I have said "we", which includes me, so of course I am culpable. The difference is that I care and I do something, whereas the majority of people are off sipping margaritas and plainly don't give a shit. It may not be bad if people admitted as much, but much like you, they make all kinds of excuses. Pathetic.

By the way thank you for judging me as a human without knowing anything about me.

Here is a little throw down so we can see which one of us is actually doing something to be part of the solution instead of making themselves out to be a martyr.

I work for a non-profit agency.......that is my job every day.....helping people.
One of our programs helps keep people in their homes and warm, another one provides food and medical care for infants.
We have a program that helps the elderly stay active as well as delivering Meals On Wheels to the homebound.
Head Start programs for children to get a good start on school and job training programs to help people that need to get back to work.

Please enlighten me as to what exactly you do to help besides name calling on the internet?

No one has to give up their wealth and go to another country; we can help from right where we are, so stop framing the discussion in that context.

The fact that you work at a non-prof says very little about you other than that's your job since your truism about the way the world is in a previous post said enough already. If your organization helps others then that is great, but it says little about whether you actually give a hoot or are just there for a job.

Neither did I make myself to be a martyr since I included myself in with everyone else as being responsible so stop framing the discussion in that context.

I am not going to get in battle of who does more on the internet -- if you are interested, email me and I will tell you in private -- I don't need or care for a "throw down". The point here is that not enough is being done when we have the resources to do more. The same guy that loves his family, takes care of kids, and helps out in the community may be the same guy that turns his back on other's in some other country because he thinks he is entitled and his money is his, and dammit he should not have to feel guilty about his consumerism. I don't agree, and more people did more there would be less of a problem.

No. If you want to know what I do, email me. I am not getting in a internet "throw down" just because you felt special enough to tell us that you work for a non-pro as your job. That's a red herring.

Billy, you want to discuss in private what you do, but criticize everyone for not doing enough.

You are a classic. Full of generalizations, and more than willing to berate the American publc for being greedy and uncaring all the while knowing nothing about the individuals you speak of.

Billy, you are one of the main reasons people stop giving and caring. Nothing is good enough, nobody cares enough and there are children starving.

If you spent more time helping these children, instead of wasting that precious time on the internet message boards, just imagine how much more good you could do?

No. What I said was that I am not going to get into an internet "throw down" about who does more -- that's not my point. I did not ask anyone to tell me what they do -- I stated that "we" (which includes me since you have ignored that about three or four times now) don't do enough. And we don't. I point this out, and the typical responses are thrown out at me which are really just excuses for being greedy and not helping. If you or anyone else feels the need to know what I do, then email me, but I am not going to follow that red herring in this discussion. And I am utterly insulted that you would think I am the reason that people don't help. I never said that nothing is good enough; I said that we don't give enough out of what we have. I never asked anyone to sell all they have and give to the poor. I am not the reason people don't help, people don't help because for the most part they are more concerned about their own lives. It's easy to ignore when you don't see it everyday.

Billy, I don't care what you do. I also wouldn't think of dictating what others should do, or where they should spend their money and or time.

I'll say again, people sending the message you give here are a problem in getting people to do something or more.

I am concerned about my life, and my family. I also care about Dave's family, and am very happy he is able to take them on a fun cruise like they are enjoying now. I also help others, but will never do enough to meet your standards.

Your behavior here is doing nothing positive for the plight of starving children. If you truely want to have a positive influence on something, this isn't the process to give desired results.

If you just want to tell people what to do, they're not good enough, they don't do enough, and so on, you're right on target.

Hi kids!

So while I was boogie and knee boarding on the Flowrider while we are in port in Haiti, I was thinking about those poor starving kids in Haiti, and then I realized, "Hey, you're actually helping those poor starving people of Haiti by contributing to their economy"

And then I thought howmfull of shit J Sloan is about me, because he has no idea how much time and effort I contribute to racers and how much time and money my family donates to charity and other causes.

So since he has no idea what he's talking in reference to me, I have to thank him for the laugh he provided me.

Well, you assholes can laugh it up, joke about it, and enjoy your margaritas. You can even go one step further and talk about how your spending on vacations helps (if that makes you feel better). You know, as well as I know that that's all bs. I obviously hit a sensitive area with some people because none of you want to own up to the fact that we don't do enough and that because we don't do enough, humans starve to death. You'd rather point fingers at me and make excuses and distract from the problem. Anything other than to own up to facts. Yes, America is a consumer nation. Yes, while we buy all our material extras and goodies someone is starving to death. Yes, we have enough personal wealth to change this. No, we don't do that. So when I hear people attempt to justify that, I get pretty upset because no matter how thin you slice, it's still baloney.

Human starving to death jokes are hilarious!!! I laugh every time!

Did I tell you guys I just bought the "Pro Bass tour" game for my PS3? The damn thing was 70 bucks, but it looks pretty fun!!

We also got some hunting game. I think it "Dangerous hunts 2011" or something like that.. It's a fun game. Get drunk and shoot at your TV..

I'm going out tonight and getting a couple of sleds.. It's supposed to snow quite a bit tonight and were gonna pull sleds behind the four wheeler! Good times..

I guess I'm a greedy fucker too... Oh well. I, me, mine...

its called capitalism,

they care more about money than people.

laugh at me all you like,im a marxist,

it wasnt untill i saw the connections that i became one,(iraq-oil,lies ect, ect, ect)

and i dont want a communist state but one that puts people above money.

but i still dont think how him going on a cruise has any effect on the wrongs of the world, only the people at the top can change it but it will never happen. unless of course they find a way to make money from it.

viva la revolution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and have a nice cruise.

Hey Dave, Have a great cruise! Seeing that pic of the Titanic sinking, wouldn't it be ironic if the owner of Engine Ice were to go down on a cruise ship that hit an Iceberg!!!Shocked Shocked Wink
