The reason I will still ride.......

After reading moscrop940's post which was by far the best I have read, I figured i would share my story . While out with a few friends on our weekly evening ride. I was 3rd gear pinned on some singletrack trails riding a little over my head trying to catch my buddy. Well i came around a blind corner and caught a branch in the ribs. It was no larger than a handle of a shovel but someone had snapped it off so it would not block the trail. At first i thought i got stabbed in the front and out the back. Big scrape ,ripped jersey, little blood, and it knocked the wind out of me. No biggie, I kept on riding for another hour. Had a few beers after, went home and went to bed. The next morning i was in pain, knew i broke a few ribs so i went to the ER just to get some meds. The ER doc made me get a CT scan to make sure i did not damage my spleen. This is the part where my life changed....Negative on the speen......but.....we found a tumor on your right kidney that is the size of a grapefruit. The next week I had every test ,scan, and blood work possible. Nine days later they removed my right kidney along with the cancerous tumor. It has been 8 weeks since surgery and as of now i am cancer free and 75% recovered from surgery. The doctors were amazed that the tumor was 10.5 cm and did not spread. Let me add that i had zero symptoms. So hence my name on here....i was lucky to blow off a union meeting to ride, lucky my buddy passed me and i was trying to catch him, lucky i hit that tree, lucky i decided to go to ER, lucky the doc sent me for CT scan, lucky the CT scan of the left side showed enough of the right, lucky it did not spread..................Lucky that I ride motox even though everyone gives me crap about it. And now those same people are grateful that moto saved my life.....Doctors said with its size I prob had a couple of years at most once it started to spread. Of course they also said no more moto now that you have only one kidney....... So i said sure thing doc and as soon as i got out of the hospital i went and bought a brand new bike.....The same new bike that i have been putting off till tomorrow...which like moscrop940 said is not a givin.........................................................So that is how moto saved my life and that is THE REASON I WILL STILL RIDE
