from the HUD report. You start to reduce that pressure of all those illegals needing housing and you reduce the pressure on price.

"One key cause of elevated worst case needs is immigration. Between 2021 and 2024, the foreign-born population of the United States increased by more than 6 million—the largest such increase over such a short period in American history. The foreign-born population now stands at more than 53 million individuals, making up the highest share of the American population in history. This immigration-driven increase in households has contributed to a significant increase in housing demand, thus driving up housing prices. In fact, in some markets, immigration has accounted for nearly all of the increase in housing demand in recent years. [Emphasis added]

This year’s report shows two realities. The first is that economic growth has been insufficient to lift the wages of low-income renting families high enough to make rent affordable. The second is that national macroeconomic policies, such as record immigration, have combined to drive sustained high rental demand, which has continued to place upward pressure on rent prices. [Emphasis added]"

You do know that cities that haven't been targeted by ice have had dramatic reductions in illegal immigrants due to the high number of illegals that "self deported" under Trump's paid program.

And that is relevant why?  The numbers clearly show rent prices have been in a slow decline in the USA as a whole since the peak of COVID craziness.  Home prices, when inflation adjusted, have also been in a slow decline or stagnated since 2022 as well.  Chicago specifically, is up over 5% year over year in prices.

I also don't remember the sharp decline in home prices following Obama's "Deporter in Chief" years but maybe I missed it.

I understand you are trying to use "common sense" to explain supply and demand and I'm not arguing the logic in that.  I'm simply stating that the numbers aren't supporting this yet.  Maybe they will.  As a multi home owner I hope prices don't go down too far.

That number is legal immigrants correct?  But I digress..

If those immigrants are the cause of rent inflation than explain the following:

image 2378.png?VersionId=5mWFIViAQCOqYZhq6LoYi

Construction must have kept pace as vacancies are at a 10+ year high.  If that vacancy trend keeps increasing then I agree, prices will most likely continue to go down, which while good for renters, will be bad for the economy as a whole.

Ok whatever, i dont care if you believe what I have determoned to be a lie enough to try anymore.  I really dont want to rile you up.

I came to this board to try and help people and Ive gotten too fare away from doing that in this section of this site.

I normally stay away from politics. I dipped my toes in when I was trying to help people understand who really pays tariffs. Via my own first hand experiances importing. Even something so easy to proove was meet with doubters and I should have just stopped there.

Don't do that, don't project your own riled up rants on someone else. I gave more respect to your rant posts than deserved. Told you multiple times this was hashed over in great detail in the past. And your response was more ranting. In the past you've on occasion provided decent dialog, this time not so much.

TM

I'm out. No rants, just long answers to try and provide complete answers in the limited time I have .

The replies I have gotten from You and R66 have only shown me that You did not read the replies .

I find  facts like numbers and legal proceedings  and You guys reply with hunches and feelings and  " That must be wrong because it looks sketchy, yet we really have no idea what a vote count looks like".

When I went  to find that "video" of an mit professor and it ended up being a drawing of an University of Michigan professor , and a case brought against Trump allies that stole software to I assume help Trump.   And that was the proof that biden stole the election?  There are way too many things that have to be assumed  for the "proof" You offer.   And You keep saying " its been settled or hashed out" . To me I've learned what I wanted to learn. And I see that You guys are not interested in any other info.

So I'm going to find more creative positive areas to spend time in.

With all of the deportations, maybe the housing market will normalize.

Unfortunately in CA, the government keeps the cost too high. If you want to build a modest size house, be prepared to pay over $100k in permits and fees before you can even shovel some dirt.

There’s a reason why people are leaving Commiefornia in droves.

Corporate partisan billionaire media hyperbole. Believe me, I wish we were leaving in droves.

But, it's not $100k up here. Nevada County and Placer County are around $25k, though it could be $100k before you start on the foundation if you need a well and septic system installed.

I gave perfect examples of some things President Trump is doing to lower prices. What are some of the democrats plans? More welfare, open borders, electric car mandates, shutting down pipelines, printing money, dei, didn’t seem to work. If democrats have the answers, tell us what they are. Why didn’t they do it before when they were in power? President Trump has only been in office for 10 months. Do you think he should be able to just snap his fingers and make it happen ? He’s working on it. Just imagine how fucked we’d all be if Kamala had won.

Haven't You seen his interviews where he says he already solved the problem? That he didn't want to hear about it anymore. I believe Trump is saying that  things are affordable and its a hoax that prices have not come down.

I know You can't fix stuff like that overnight. But You can make prices go up overnight while also causing less exports via the insane way he imposed tariffs.

How affordable were things when…

The Democrats were running the show under Biden and our dollar LOST 20% PERCENT OF ITS VALUE…?

And GAS was $5/gallon

Energy prices for stupid

MILLIONS OF ILLEGALS WERE FLOODING OUR JOB MARKETS

This shit SPIKED under Biden and the current administration is getting our dollar value back on track. How’s that Fed-Rate doin?

How much is a gallon of gas?

Since the Biden-Harris clowns loved saying this as soon as The Donald was elected…

How much do eggs cost?! (Yes, Joe’s FDA contributed to that problem “Bigly”)

Asking for a friend…🤣

Please, feel free to nurse your TDS/TDA & mash your usual “hate button” below and…

Have a Nice Day! 🙂

The democrats can not have put out a plan, and Trump can can still be not working on making things more affordable anymore since he feels like he already fixed them.

People clearly vote for many different reasons. You have the loyalists who would vote for their candidate no matter what. But the people who really decide the elections are the people who change their votes.  And I have seen many interviews , history shows, that when people are unhappy with the incumbent  they vote them out.

That was the only point I was making when I said that I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the house and senate.

I've already said many times that BOTH parties are doing more to get everybody arguing with each other than they are doing to truly help the average voters.

Just because I dislike stuff Trump does, doesn't mean I like anything that Democrats have done.  And there are many people fed up with both parties. So a criticism of one should never be taken as the indorsement of the other.

I'll be heading back to Moto related now.

Starting around the 70's, both parties have been spending like crazy and it's been pretty well split with half of that time being Republicans and half of that time being Democrats. Good or bad economy doesn't matter, it's been spend-spend-spend. No progress will ever be made on debt when politicians have people blaming each others parties while they pick the pockets of both. And certainly no progress will be made when we cut spending and also cut revenue. That's called, "trying to have your cake and eat it too", which has never and will never do anything to reduce debt.

The dem's spending plan is in the same place the republicans health care plan is, in big business' wallet. Keep arguing over scraps, that's what they want.

Lol!  Thanks for helping prove the point. Democrats have no plans for “affordability” that make any sense. Just pie in the sky with no reasonable way to get there.  If you come up with some convoluted nonsense  of how dei, open borders, windmills, electric cars, men in women’s sports, hugging trees, bitching about everything, more regulation and higher taxes makes it easier to afford anything let us know.

The core principles around their old school ideologies is that the Dems thought that investing in people would cause them to thrive in work and life and the country would flourish, whereas Reps thought that if you invested in business the people would thrive in work and life and the country would flourish. Both are true when balanced together, but not the yoyo effect of only doing one or the other, which is an increasing trend today.

Not sure what in the hell you are talking about. Just tell me what the person (kamala harris) chosen by and nominated by the democrats to be president would be doing right now to make things more affordable had she won the election.  Or tell me what you think Trump should be doing on top of what he is already doing and has done.

But that had nothing to do with immigration at that point in time.

I think it's become a "conditioned response" now. I asked a question about

something I have zero knowledge of and there they were with their little thumbs down. 🤣

Were you not around for the market crash? I don't think prices could have gotten lower than what they were during the Obama years.

But that had nothing to do with immigration at that point in time.

Real estate prices were their lowest 2011-2012. When did Obama get in office? Were you the one who brought up "Obama"

or "Deporter in Chief" as you called it? Maybe you should reread my post if you even read it the first time.

According to the FRED the lowest point was Q1 2009. Median Sales Price of Houses Sold for the United States (MSPUS) | FRED | St. Louis Fed

Either way, Im simply stating that we have not seen a housing market correction due to deportations as of yet.  Logically it makes sense, but things don't always go the way we think it will.  Look at the stock market for instance.  It no longer follows any logical pattern either.

You're so off your original point you're in a pretzel. Now you want to argue about when the housing market bottomed out? Who gives a f#@%? So what if it was 2009,2010,2011,2012,2013,2014? Statement still was, it bottomed out under Obama (who you brought up) but it wasn't because of immigration.

"Data from sources like the S&P/Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price Index and the Federal Reserve indicate that prices bottomed out around 2012. "

B. Hussein Obama did everything he could to destroy our economy and country from the very first day.
