I’m kicking around buying a Fly Racing Formula S helmet. Not so much for the app but cause it appears to be a good helmet.
I read the website about the app. I’m not sure I grasp lap times and what all the app does. Seems like it would take some input to make it happen. I’m not looking for lap times, I don’t race. Just trying to figure out what the Bluetooth app brings. The hit the ground feature is neat but has a 65 ish feet range. Which is kinda like the man down monitoring uses in chemical plants, refineries for workers.
Guess I’m looking for someone that has some experience with the app etc.
Thanks Billy
I’m also curious. I’ve had the helmet for atleast 6 months and haven’t even turned the damn thing on. The price was justifiable to my gf because I ride alone in the desert often. She was all about it, probably wouldn’t be too happy if I told her I don’t use the features, and even less happy if she knew I bought another new helmet since then lol
I have one. You need to set up the app with your emergency contacts. The app works best when you are riding somewhere with decent cell service. I had it track my ride a few times. It wasn’t very good compared to the relive app I use sometimes. The first time I used it , it text my wife and my riding buddy I needed help after I loaded my bike and set the helmet on the tail gate. After that happened I was too distracted worried that it would happen again. If I rode by myself it would be worth it. I let the battery go dead so I know it’s not making any emergency alerts for me. I’m not mad about it. It’s my second fly formula and I’m sure I’ll buy another in a few years.
I ordered a red and black Fly Racing Formula S last night from MX Closeout, 430 bucks as I recall. I read Keefer Testing review but still can’t get the big picture on what the app does. 65 feet Bluetooth range……..I guess if I fell at Ultimate MX in Alvin Texas where I ride during week. I’m sometimes only one on the track and if I had my phone with me the app would let know I fell. I’m a retired tech guy, I not exactly in the dark on the specs, just don’t get the function part.
The part I’m not getting and maybe cause I just skimmed over the Fly Racing and link below, didn’t read in detail. Will the app dial up on a fall to another cell phone. If so would be great for off-road, riding alone at the track like I do sometimes.

I bet someone has the skinny on this.
Thanks for the input. Kinda what I was hoping for. All the tracks I ride at have good cell service. I’d guess might not be the case if I rode the single track trails in the Sam Houston National Forrest. Which is a good ways North of Houston area, cell coverage might be a problem. I’ve never been much on off-road guy but the older I get I need to think about offroad.
